Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC

No Has Been Able To Solve This Office 2007 Pro Problem, Can You?

I'm trying to install Office Pro 2007. It installed once and everything was fine until I needed to add a feature using add/remove programs and it stopped working. I have tried everything possible to put it back on my pc. I'm using Office xp now. When it starts to install after a few minutes I get a message about the program had and error installing and that's it. About all that gets installed is the Office 12 directory and some registry entries. I tryed downloading the free trial of Office 2007 and the install problem went the same way. Help! Comment posted on Dec 07, 2008 I think you are right. I have tried everything. There was an option to remove or keep previous versions of Office when starting the office 2007 install. But once again MS has made a big mess out of what should be a simple install. I hate to have to go through all those office xp updates if it doesnt work, but I want to try anyway. Thanks! Comment posted on Dec 08, 2008 Too bad! I uninstalled all of Office XP and did a restart, I even deleted all the office folders before installing Office 2007 Pro and it stopped installing about 3 minutes into the process. I got a message "Office Professional Plus 2007 encountered an error during setup" and thats it. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did set up a new user account and tried the install of office 2007 but that did not help. I guess you're right about needing to reinstall xp os from scratch. I hate to waist the time to do that is why I tried to see if anything else would work.
    Thanks again for the info.

Okay after no one finding a solution for this huge problem with Office Pro Plus 2007, I reinstalled XP OS and was able to do a clean install of the operationg system and office 2007 did install with no problems. It took me a couple of days to rebuild my pc programs and profiles but now it works.

Hi,
The problem is the feature you tried istalling might have corrupted the OS. What you can try doing is create new user account first , restart your computer into the new user computer and then try installing. If the same still doesnot work , then my friend the only solution would be to reinstall windows xp and then put office 2007.

Thanks
proton

It was great to see , your system up and running . These software programs sometimes become really nasty.

Thanks for using Fixya, looking forward to help you again.

I'm really not sure what to suggest as the disc is not reading in multiple computers and other discs work fine on the computer you are trying to install it on it sounds like it is bad media. You may want to contact the location you purchased it from and see if you can exchange to software.

Office 2007 Install Problems

It can be very aggravating to reinstall Office; you probably need to use the free removal tool that Microsoft provides for situations like yours. It may have nothing to do with Office 2007 and everything to do with whatever else you added via Add/Remove Programs. My best advice is patience; Office12 is huge, and takes a long time to put all its junk in there; Microsoft will walk you through it if you have patience with their tech support folks and time to wait on hold to reach someone. The good news is they get paid to sit with frustrated folks like you. If you can be more sprcific what the error message(s) say(s) that will help whomever could help you get to the root cause of your issue(s).

Sounds like the DVD may be a bit scratched, or the lens is dirty.  Try the following:
  1. Buy a laser lens cleaner (generic audio one will do fine, a couple of bucks from a cheap shop) and run it through your computer.
  2. Try the install again.  If it still doesn't work, copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your computer and try running setup from there.  This has worked for other people before.

Office 2003 Install failure on new computer.

I am not really sure, but I think that 2003 and 2007 use the same file names and some files may have gotton overwritten when you installed, so the app gets this file that is too advanced for the version or not advanced enough. Hope that helps.

My advice, uninstall both programs and ONLY INSTALL 1 version (2003 OR 2007)

:-) Good Luck

Windows Vista and Office Pro 2003

hi, yes you can install office 2003 while you already have office 2007. you just need to change the installation directory when you launch the setup for office 2003. change it into something apart from what office 2007 already is installed in. so what you're trying to say is that you should be entitled to an upgrade to office 2007 if office 2003 doesn't work? i would maybe think so... but no solid answer for that one.
