scotch tape will fix a torn ribbon without having to remove it completely from the printer

There is a sub-board under the carriage assy. that controls all the functions. It has probably gone south.

You may have installed ribbon incorrectly.
Align the gears of ribbon spindle with gears on printer and second important thing is that ribbon should come from up not from down.

this is because your ribbon is getting worn out day by day.any small cracks or torn edges will not harm much. but if the ribbon is sliced to pieces, they have to be replaced, as you cannot work with torn ribbon. here is a link to the manual with which you can replace the ribbons and sooner or later you need to do that

The ribbon cable is an itegral part of the Red LCD Immager and cannot be replaced.

Hi,this speaker ribbon can be fixed by any qualified mobile phone technician around you,but please don't try doing it yourself because this particular phone in question is a very delicate phone that requires extra care

If the ribbon is torn, just tape it and wind forward 1-2 passes, then use again. If it is torn often, you may need service

Possibly something is stuck in the unit. Remove ribbon and inspect, Also be sure rollers are clean and not torn.

you have to replace the ribion, try ebay one thats used for parts.
