Not knowing what input, source or material we're talking about here I have to hipshoot...

Your digital source will be the determinant of the highest non-simulated surround mode you can select.

How do i get all 5 speakers to work? only the three front ones work not two in back

Check the source, is it a surround sound source? If not, you'll need to change it to a 5/7 channel stereo setting, probably under the music option. Most music is only stereo, because we only have two ears!

Hi, my problem is only the front 2 speakers work i have tried all the speakers in the front 2 connections of the unit & all speakers are working but none when in the rear, center, & sub woofer unit...

Without knowing which receiver etc you have... make sure your "mode" is set to 5 channel, Dolby Pro or similar. And even then, make sure your source is 5 channel. What are you using for an input cable? It needs to be able to provide 5 channel. Standard RCA stereo type cords do not. You need either optical, "coax" or hdmi. Lastly do you actually have a 5 channel program? Many older movies, and standard cable boxes only output stereo, not 5 channel.

Is there any way i can use all channels regardless of source? i would like to understand what i need have as an input source inorder to use all 5.1 or at least 4 speakers

The answer is yes - and no. By definition, audio sources are encoded or recorded in a specific manner. If I record a stereo signal, there really are no rear channels or center or bass specific channels. To be most faithful to the original, you play back stereo in stereo and 5:1 in 5:1 and so on. There ARE several units designed to "synthesize" additional channels from sources that do not contain all the info specifically. Some multi-channel receivers/amps incorporate such circuits and you can "derive" rear channels from stereo inputs and so forth. If not, you may need an additional box (device) to turn 2 into 4 or 5, 3 from 2 and so on. Your choice but that's how it works.

Problem getting the best surround sound when watching a dvd

THE BEST SOUND IS WHAT SOUNDS BEST TO YOU, HOWEVER DO THIS:
1, USING THE SETUP MIC CONFIGURE YOUR DENON, PAGE 8 OF THE MANUAL. NEXT
2. RAISE THE REAR SPKR LEVELS, PAGE 46,47. NEXT
3. WHEN LISTENING TO AUDIO CD OR RADIO TRY THE 5 CH STEREO DSP MODE.
4. WHEN WATCHING A DVD USE DSP DOLBY PROLOGIC OR TRY 5CH STEREO IF THE MOVIE IS MOSTLY TALKING.
5, TRY 5CH STEREO WHEN WATCHING PROGRAMS WITH MOSTLY TALKING

5ch/7ch stereo in 5 channel mode

Front panel button engaged for 5 or 7 channel operation? Also check front panel rear surround speakers button is engaged. Should get you back to 7.1 unless you have changed the rear surround speaker setup for a 2nd zone, also be sure you have a 7.1 DSP setting enabled.

Kenwood Receiver connected to my pc

using the Y adapter method (i am guessing you are using just a single stereo mini-jack cable with a mini-jack to RCA adapter) you are only sending a standard Stereo signal to the receiver. Setting 5.1 in windows is just simulating (if using Stereo) or actually mixing 5.1 if you are using analog 5.1 (3 stereo mini-jack cables going to 3 mini-jack to RCA adapters using a 6 channel DVD input). if you have a surround sound audio card i suggest using the Analog 6 channel input by using 3 stereo cables each with their only adapter.

or, if you have a Digital output (Coaxial or TOSlink [optical]) try using that.

good luck.

I forgot the security code on my kenwood car stereo. Is there a way to reset the code? I bought it like 10 years ago its a kenwood krc 508s. Please help. Thank you.

I read this on ecoustics forum:
You could try this:

When you are asked for the code, press and hold the 'AUTO' button and "Next Track" ">>|" for 3 seconds till the (----) disappear.

Now take the remote control and Type "KCAR" with the number pad.
PRESS "5", "5", >>| (NEXT TRACK) you should have a "K"
PRESS "2", "2","2" >>| (NEXT TRACK) you should have a "C"
PRESS "2", >>| (NEXT TRACK) you should have an "A"
PRESS "7", "7", you should have a "R"
PRESS >>| (NEXT TRACK) and hold for 3 seconds

If successful you will see 'Approved' and the stereo will go to standby screen

Good luck

Help!!!!!

Hi Linda,

It is showing two because the source of the sound that you are listening is probably stereo only thus only two sound comes out. You could try to change the mode to 5 channel stereo or prologic or dts-6channel mode in the surround mode to hear your sound in all 5 speakers. best thing to do is watch a dvd which would use all 5.

Regarding a/b yes if your receiver supports it which i think it does there should be place for it in the back of the receiver.

good luck

smeags.
