I had to format my lappie for some problems...i installed all drivers after that. but couldn't find anything for the built-in webcam. when i visited the lenovo download drivers site, it said for Windows XP, it is not required. But if I am using any webcam service, like of yahoo messenger...it's not able to detect my webcam...

If the webcam is built-in, try to download the approptiate driver for your webcam. Take note of the corresponding OS (operating system), you must download and install the driver according to your OS. Remove all webcam driver which is not provided by the manufacturer of your webcam, for it might conflict and coz malfunctioning.
In case your laptop was already formatted from its ORIGINAL state (factory set-up), browse on factory website (LENOVO) for its original bios. If all this things failed, it is more probably a hardware or webcam problem...so you must replce it. Please take note the model number of your laptop prior to download and intstallation.
