Just use it as usb flash drive. Connect it through USB port. If it is first time it will take a while to finish the installation. Wait until message Device installed and ready to use will pop up. After that go My computer.... find the Philips go gear. Double click will open folder. Just browse it to find the songs (might be separate folder Songs or Audio). Copy them and paste them on desktop of your computer or any othe folder.

When you connect the MP3 player to yourcomputer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as anexternal storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder onyour MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the playerexactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. Toorganise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album andplace the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from thecomputer into this folder.

You can copy out all your songs on to your computers hard drive. Go to -> my computer right click the my computer icon and choose explore -> click on your hard drive = + C:\ and look on the folder tree for a folder to put every thing in or create a new folder, right click the +C:\ and add new folder. Go to your player (hook it up to your computer) on the tree, find the folder with all your music and right click -> copy then go to your new folder and right click -> paste= done.

When you plug your MP3 player into your PC, the PC would recognize it as an external hard drive. All you have to do at that point is go to My Computer and open the files in that drive and drag and drop, or copy the whole file to your PC.
Note.
Not all Mp3 players are hard-drive based as mentioned above, furthermore some are write protected and do not allow you to copy from them. So, for those of you who have a mp3 player that is not write-protected, and will not allow you to access it as a removable drive, what you need to do is download Winamp. Winamp is free, just go to winamp.com; it will have a link for it. Open up Winamp, plug in your mp3 player, it should recognize it, give it a sec. There is a tab that says portables, your player should show up there, click on it to open. From here you will be able to right click any of the media on your mp3 player and chose the option to Copy to Local Media. I hope this helps everyone else.
Note.
Plug in Mp3 Player. Go to My computer. Right click on the device. Select the Explore option. Go to the folder on the mp3 player that has your music. Open the My Music folder. Drop and drag your music from the mp3 folder to your my music folder.

Problem with go gear

Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch., and as soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The computer will see the gogear as a removable hard-drive now, so you can copy/paste music to the music folder. Though the drive might be recognized by Vista, even with the media player running I wasn't able to load music on the player. The files were on the player, as the computer showed, but the player couldn't see them. Only for winXP!

Lost software for the Mp3 player model number YP-U3J ZB/XEU

How to get music onto your USB MP3 player without software. 28822404.jpg
One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.

First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one). Hope this helps. http://www.pchelpforanyone.blogspot.com/
