Can't record a program with videotape

I am trying to record a program using a videotape and when I set it up with the date, time, channel, nothing happens. I want to tape a program that will be early in the morning so I want to set it up in advance. Does anyone know how to record in advance. Does the VCR have to be on or off? If I want to record on the spot, do I just press on TIMER REC or REC/OTR. Again I tried both but nothing happens. Thanks p.s. I don't have the manual

Re: can't record a program with videotape

Try setting the clock again paying close attention to AM and PM settings as well as everything else. REC/OTR is for recording "on the spot". Make sure unit is in proper mode with the DVD/VCR button. Customer service number is usually on a sticker on these units.

Logik recorder - error message - cannot schedule recording, there is already a timer at the same time on this channel. turned the box off at the wall & retuned. Any suggestions? Thank you. x

check programmed recordings you will have a clash possibly in time and date on another channel. If the dvd records two channels at once normally check if it has two channels already set up at the same time to record i the scheduled recordings.
you may have two different channel positions that are the same tv station and have set up two different channels to record the same show. and then you may be trying to record another different channel at the same time. check and delete extra channel schedule.

Another way to have this is as an example say programmed record at channel nine f0r show 1 at 7:30 to 8.35 day xyz and then you set up show 2 to record at channel nine say from 8:30 to xyz this will use two time frames during the overlap from 8:30 to 8:35 on day xyz and if you decide to record a third show you can't between the overlap time frame

Recording Multiple Channels with DVD Recorder

Yes just set the timer programs on each line in the set timer "page". You just change the date and times on each line in order.

RCA model DRC8335 Loosing the date and time

That will be a problem from the text side of the broadcast, the clock is set from the text transmission, ( in other words a problem from the transmitter ) possibly due to digital switchover or work on the transmitters. One possible solution would be to turn off auto clock setting, and/or auto summer time adjustment.

How do I record from a videotape to a dvd

You need the cables to hook your VCR to your PC and also a decent Video program that allows you to import a file (The Videotape recording) to the program, and burn it from there.

How to program vcr using L1L2

I think that L1 and L2 are the extension inputs (scart/phono) from an external source therfor you will only be able to record whatever channel they are on. to make a timed recording you will have to input time date channel you will be unable to record via videoplus.

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!
