First you can try a system restore to a time when it was working correctly. You can find that in this location: start -> all programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore Or you can uninstall the hardware, turn off the PC, and then restart and let windows reinstall it for you. You can also goto Compaq and find new drivers for it.

Internal error-cannot load data for alert fsi open err4

the slave drive has a fault. would say it needs changing. system records onto hard drive one then send to hard drive 2 at its peek. now this can be 10gb. but alert data is stored on slave drive. unless your model has cd rom then it has 1 hard drive formatted in to 2 drives. if this is the case then your hard drive has picked up a fault wile in use. you would need a new hard drive and down load the soft wear for you system. format the hard drive in fat32 and split the drive into 2. D/E then put the hard drive in system. Now the software will be in a iso file so that will need to be burned to a disk. then put the disc into drive. now turn on system and hold down camera 2 for 5-10 seconds you should see the light on the cd rom light up and it should re-boot to new system. now you just need to set the system back up to the way you want it. hope this helps you.

Error message stop 0x00000024

which operating system ?

If you get the Windows blue screen, you can determine which stop code you have and determine what you need to do in order to get your computer back to working correctly.

First, make sure that you have this error code - Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. This message shows that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. One possible problem is a malfunctioning SCSI and Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA) hardware or drivers. This can also adversely affect the system's ability to read and write to disk, causing errors. If the computer is using a SCSI hard drive, check both for cabling and termination problems between the SCSI controller and the disks. You will need to periodically check the Event Viewer for error messages related to SCSI or FASTFAT in the System log. You can also use Autochk in the Application log. Try the following. First, Double-click My Computer, select the hard disk you want to check. Then, on the File menu, click Properties. Then, click the Tools tab. Next, in the Error-checking box, click Check Now.
Finally, in Check disk options, select the scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. You can also select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.

I did a disk sanitizer on my 8440p XP edition and now get error non-system disk or disk erro how do I fix?

im not sure i understand the disk sanitizer or which disk you did it on

click start control panel administration tools computer management disc management right click on your drive select properties tools check now scan for and attempt to recovery bad sectors and
automatically fix any file system errors tick in both boxes or tick one box then wait until it has finished then return and tick in the other box
i have found the best results ticking the first box then returning after chkdsk has finished automatically fixing files
you should have no input while chkdsk is running any input might further damage your hard drive
hope this helps you

Can't Sign into Windows...How to do system reboot if I can't log in to windows?

Hi e_norris

Do you have either the Windows installation disk or a Recovery Disk. Some manufacturers ship the Recovery Disk with the PC others require you to create one when you first turn the computer on.

Windows xp home edition reinstall

If you use his disk, that will be better, because if it is original HP disk, it should install all original drivers at all, however this may delete all files on the computer depending on the type of installation you do.

Installing an older version of XP home does not make a big difference , as windows will update the system using automatic updates. What must be done, is ensuring that all proper drivers are installed.

Check device manager, in control panel/system, and see if all devices are installed with proper drivers.
