Hello. the best way to get going again is to hook up the USB cable between your printer and computer and then run your printer driver disk. If you do not have the printer driver disk, you can download it for free. Just google Epson Stylus CX6600 printer driver
Lift up the entire scanner including the scanner's flatbed. On the left (left to the paper sticker with its Serial No) you will see the sign of USB cable and some kind of pit left to this sign. Locate the socket and plug-in the USB cable. You will also see the narrow channel going under right angle. Put the cable into this channel so the flatbed of the scanner part will lie down tight when you close it.
The usbport on these printers is located under the scanner assembly. Open the top of the unit as though you were going to replace a cartridge, To the front you will find the usb port. Be sure to thread it through the cable slot.
I had the same problem that was similar where it would get to 16% of the document and then say that the printer is not responding. I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in and that fixed it, but it did the same thing about a month ago.
first check whether ur printer have usb or lpt. and then check ur model may be sometimes ur printer automatically detects by xp otherwise u have to download ur printer from www.driverguide.com
