Question about Maytag MMV1153A Microwave Oven
When door closed, fan runs and internal platter continues to move. Internal light off with door open or closed. Control panel seems to function normally otherwise, will cook Local repair tech says the board needs to be replaced, at a cost of $400. Help!
The first thing to replace is your technician. *grin*
You have a shorted main relay (lamp relay) on the control circuit board and a burned out light bulb.
You do not need a new board.
We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.
Page 24 of your owner's manual shows you how to replace the light bulb. Be sure to unplug it first.
If you don't have your manual, you can download it here.
