I had this problem today-though mine sounds a little different. i need more info to correctly answer this, but i'll give it my best shot. when i tuned my Sansa on, it said 'battery too low. system shutdown' so i charge it same thing. here's what i did.
1)carefully unscrew the back off
2)you should see a big white thing with all ths Japanese kanji and what not on it. this is the battery.
3)what i did was i took out the battery since it is customer replacable and i put it back in. the same one. it works now.

Sansa clip 4 gb wont turn on

You probably already did this, but here is the proper method to change the backlight timer:
1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move to Settings and select it.
3. Select Display.
4. Select Backlight.
5. Press |<< or >>| button to select desired backlight timer.

My 8 gb sansa

Does the charging sign show up? It could be a bad cable. Also make sure you have the right software You can get it here at: http://www.sandisk.com/sansa
Go to Support\product support\sansa view\ thenlook in the right column

Try it with different usb ports as well.
Go to Device Manager and look for "?'s" or "!'s"

Mp3 playr yp-k3 wont turn on after being charged, we only brought it a week ago and has never worked. Weve tryed resettin the player but still wont turn on.

take it back. it is not worth the trouble if you've only bought it for a week.
if it is a lion battery like the creative mp3s, then charge it for at least a day to begin with.

My sansa wont boot up

The best results that I have had were to hold the power button for about 15 seconds. ( if you only hold it for 3 seconds it goes into sleep mode). This shuts the device off. Then restart it.
