My GAK8NF9 motherboard has ongoing problems recognising my headphones when I plug them into the MB. I can plug in the mic OK but not the headset. Can I reassign line in / line out / etc ports?

Try setting up your headphone at the control panel. select the audio, there you have choices to try both your headphone and your headset. If didn't work out try to reinstall your audio software which is on the Utility CD of your mainboard.

I want to attatch my mic to my motherboard

desktop or laptop computer ?

3 Ports on the side- Pink,Green,Black
Pink Port is LineIn for an external device player jack

Green Port is LineIn for the Microphone jack
Black Port is LineOut for Headset or External Speakers jack

Plug the Green jack on Headphone - into the Black Port on the laptop.
b) Go to Control Panel and open - RealTek HD Audio manager
On the top of Page are 3 Icons -

One Icon is labelled Speakers One is for Digital optics, one is for Mic,
The Speakers Icon is misleading as it is also for Headphones (LineOut)

Select Speaker Icon and make it Default. Also tick Full Range - Front LR
Ignore the 4 vertical Analog Icons on the right side.

You should now have Headphone sound if your volume is not Muted.

click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a microphone right click select enable windows 7

click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a microphone right click select configure speech recognition then

you will see earphones with a speaker among a list set up a microphone headset with microphone then next and next again you should see your earphones with microphone being configured

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list

make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or

select the voice tab

make sure that you have the right media selected also

select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it

or you might have to depending on your operating system
Click start Control Pannel
click on Hardware and Sound

click on Sound
then you devices should come up ; speakers, Digital Audio, and headphones

plug your headphones in
then select headphones

at the bottom it will say set as default
select that!!

then when you disconnect your headphones it automatically switches to the speakers and when you plug them back in it automatically will switch to headphones

hope this helps

Hello, i have microfone problems on GA-EX58-UD5 It all started on Win Vista 64 with Logitech Digital precision. I always thougth they sucked cause mic never worked like it should. Problems were mostly...

Looking at the Logitech website at the link below this is a classic example of a Windows 7 Driver not being available.

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2193/section/troubleshoot/crid/438/lt_product_id/2986/tabs/1,3,2,5/cl/us,en/kw/

You could try downloading the latest Audio Driver for your GA-EX58-UD5 Mainboard from the link below by selecting your operating system, but I think as long as you're running Windows 7 these problems will just continue until they get their act together and start poducing the required drivers.

Whenever i plug in both the headphone and the mic, it randomly disconnects my headset speakers and doesnt even pick up my mic. When i plug in just the headphone i hear sounds but it doesnt pick up mic....

You have to firstly test your head phones on another computer.... If it works in another computer than firstly update your anti virus program and then re install your drivers.... If it does not solve the problem you can re plug the cable of sound card on mother board... If problem does not solved than your sound card might have problem.

Hi, I have Commell LV-672 MB and I have weird sound problems, its buzzing and making weird sounds when I dont do anything (listen music or whatnot). same is when I use the mic, that weird sound is like...

Open up your computer the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer as is the microphone input
to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plugs make sure the connections are good
or you might have to clean the dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer
hope this helps

Well in this case you need to include also the infomation of your computer like brand , model and Operating system because the problem is not with the headset. Otherwise you can check the settings right through Control Panel - Sound then Playback and Recording configuration

When I play my ipod without headphones it plays out loud but when I plug in my headphone it continues to play out loud and through the headphones.

Mine does that when I don't have my headset plugged all the way in (try another headset too just in case the end of yours is causing something weird).
If that doesn't do it it is 1: a software problem and you should do a restore through iTunes 2: a hardware problem and you should contact Apple about repair (hopefully still under warranty.)

WHERE DO I CONNECT MIC

If you have a front panel, the sockets are usually marked. The Mic socket should have a symbol representing an old fashioned desktop microphone. Perhaps the easiest to recognise is the headphone socket.

Line out will, usually, work fine from the headphone socket but, depending on what you want it for, may need some amplification. Similarly, line in will usually be happy in the Mic socket.

If there are no markings, trial and error will not do any damage. Start with the line out which will not be powered and play some Windows(R) sounds.

PC Chips haven't released an audio driver for Win7. However as they were using the Realtek driver the Win 7 driver from here MAY work.

Open System properties, click hardware tab & than click device manager. Scroll down to Sound, video & game controller. Do you see a yellow ! . This means you need a driver or intergrated controller is bad.
