Changing ink cartridge on a HP C4280 printer

You open the clamshell and the carriage will move the cartridges to the place you can remove them. Just gently push down and pull out the cartridge. You replace it by inserting it and pushing up until the cartridge clicks into place.

Printer will not recognize new blk ink cartridge.

I think either the printer's scanner(or film as some call it) and/or the carriage is faulty. The signal cable that connects the carriage to the logic board could also be a suspect. Try replacing these items one after another and the culprit will be isolated. Good luck.

Hp c4280 printer/print cartridges

Have you checked to make sure that you have the correct replacement cartridge?

In general if it simply will not go into position and you know you have the correct cartridge, then you need to take it back to where you bought it and request a replacement - because it is defective.

C4280 printer photo cartridge instalation help

The extra cartridge you bought was probably the number 99 cartridge, if I'm not mistaken.

The cartridge actually replaces your black cartridge. Inside of the cartridge has black ink as well as the special photo ink.

I hope this helps
