It sounds very much like your printing software is not set up correctly.
Try re-installing the Printer software or better still, take a look at the print menus which you should be able to access from 'Control Panel' if you have a Windows machine.
I doubt VERY much that there is something wrong with your Printer.
It is your Computer telling it to print twice.
Reinstall the print driver. Does machine make copies, can you print from a different computer. try printing from different programs Outlook, word, adobe pdf. web page. CAN you ping the machine. does it show up under control panel under printer devices. Delete all print jobs from all computers or at the machine. Power off the machine. wait ten seconds power up.
The problem you are having a most likely caused by a dirty corona wire. We have a page on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/Brother_corona.htm that shows how to clean the corona wire and get back to printing.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
The printer icon wouldn't appear on the desktop but in your Printers folder. When you try to print does the printer show up in the lower right hand corner? If it does, right click on it, click on properties. You should see what you're trying to print there. Click on the top left and make sure the printer isn't Paused or that Stop isn't selected. Either of these 2 would leave your print jobs in the queue without actually printing them. Hope this helps. Please feel free to post back with any other questions. Greg
If it is a color printer, try printing just grayscale or black& white. It is is already set to print just b/w, try printing in color. Basically you may be out of ink. Run the printer utility to clean the heads and see if anything changes. A new set of cartridges should fix the problem, I believe.
Hope this helps...
What a tank! Great machine. I have never tried to connect to a computer. What op system are you using? Windows Vista and maybe XP may not support this model. Look for undates. What cable are you using? I just checked with Canon and found this unit is supported by Win 95/98. A firmware update from Canon may solve it.
