Weather king select furnace

At the opposite side of the burners from the igniter there is a small metal probe/rod situated where the flame would blow across it during operation. This rod is for flame verification so the gas valve will know that the gas is being ignited. Often that probe will get carbon built up on it which will cause the furnace to light but then abruptly shut off because "the probe doesn't know there is a flame there". A fine grit sandpaper works well to restore it's conductive ability. However, if the furnace runs for a while before it shuts off you could very well have an obstruction in the vent pipe or an obstructed indoor coil. If cleaning the flamerod doesn't remedy the problem, I strongly recommend a qualified serviceperson look at it! The furnace could well be turning itself off because something is getting too hot and coming back on when it cools. Good luck.

Hello, make sure the gas valve is opening and the burners are getting gas and verify that the gas valve is getting 24 volts.

Weatherking Furnace will now turn on. Can get blower to work

Does your outside unit run. Does the inside unt try to run. If not you may have control problem. Check voltage on transformer. It should be 24 volts. Rus

NO MAIN GAS

I can help , If your positive there is 5psi + of gas going to the unit and you have tied the red low voltage wire with the white low voltage wire or R term. to W term. on the board or low volt. term board together and there is still no gas the problem is a bad gas valve , they are notorious for failing. Hope this helps you out , let me know if you have any more questions or problems. good luck Phil

I'm trying to figure out if our Weather King system has a heat pump... how do I tell?

Your indoor furnace is weather king? If you have a a/c unit outside, it could be a heat pump, but you have to provide the model number on it.. If you do have a unit outside, when you call for heat does the outdoor unit kick on?
