The frame tilt seized on Bugaboo Cameleon

Bugaboo Cameleon: The frame tilt mechanism is siezed (the two big white buttons on the sides). The buttons are permanently depressed and wont release to enable the frame to lock into position. I am guessing that there may some grit in there but I cant work out how to clean it out.

    exactly the same problem

I had the same problem. Our stroller is brand new. Some of the gears inside the locking hub have sheared off and are blocking the buttons from getting depressed. You can remove the broken pieces after you unscrew the cap holding it together. This will unseize your recline feature but it still means some of the teeth are missing. I am contacting Bugaboo to see what they can do for us.

i am having the same problem with BOTH of the large white buttons remaining depressed.  I thought that i just had some sand in there but i opened it up and cleaned and re-greased and it still won't work. It does look like some of the teeth have sheared off so I will probably need to contact Bugaboo for replacement parts.

We are having the same issue. We tried using WD-40 and taking it apart, but to no avail. Has anyone found if a retailer or the manufacturer will offer assistance?

BUGABOO will send out free replacemnt buttons even if your pram is out of warranty you need to contact them. They will fix the problem but i had to put them in the oposite sides to what their instructions suggested for them to work so def a fiddly job but does fix problem.

We had a similar problem, the right-hand hinge of the frame would not lock and the button was permanently down. What had happened was the handle extension switch housing had come unscrewed and slipped up the frame, causing a small spring to fall out. The lock switches each have a spring which pushes down on a rod inside the frame to lock the hinge. To access the spring, unscrew the handle extension housing and slide it up the aluminum frame. I replaced the missing spring and the frame works perfectly. If the problem is with the spring, this should work. Alternatively the problem may lie inside the lock switch housing, which contains a very simple mechanism which slides the lock rod up and down. This can be unscrewed as well. As far as I can tell, the actual hinge assembly itself is a sealed unit and can't be opened, but hopefully, you won't have to.
Good luck,
Ben

My bugaboo cameleon frame wont click on the chassis

The chassis must be fully opened out and the handle locked in position before the seat / bassinet frame can lock down on to it. The seat / bassinet frame is the safety lock keeping the frame ridged. You should see a square hole (made by two half squares from adjoining hub disks) at the top of the chassis hub assembly when fully open. A square pin under the seat frame must engage into it and the white release button must click. Your Bugaboo will not br safe unless this happens and you should contact the seller to help.macnutz_36.jpgmacnutz_35.jpg

Hi, I can't get the cameleon frame to attach properly to the frame. It slides on and off, there is no click. The only thing I've noticed is that when we try and attach the frame the whit clips (that you...

The Cameleon base frame must be fully opened and the handle locked for the seat frame to fully engage on the posts and the white lock buttons click out to lock position. www,bugaboo.com/userguides has manuals with pictures if your unsure. If the frame still does not lock check the seat frame can side fully side down the posts and the stubs under the seat frame bracket can fit into the slots in the main frame hub. If this is fully down and seated then the lock buttons may be the problem. Bugaboo supply a small can of silicone spray in the maintenance kits that come with the strollers. What they don't tell you is how vital it is to use it regually on the main hub unit etc if you wish to get a good service life out of your Bugaboo. Give the whole area a good spay then wipe off the excess with a paper towel. Don't use oil based lubricants like WD40. Check my tips section for more info.

How do I fix one of the frame support buttons on a Bugaboo Cameleon, as the lefthand button is stuck?

Do you mean the tilt buttons? If so you need to disassemble the buttons, which can be done with two screwdrivers one a thin slot type the other a phillips. Here's the process: 1. Behind the white button is a screw. Remove it using the phillips screwdriver. 2. You'll now have a black housing with a white button held in by three white tabs. 3. Free the white button from the housing by pressing inwards on each of the three tabs with the slot type screwdriver. 4. You'll now have a black base, a spring and a white button. 5. Sand the circumference of the white button evenly until it slips easily in and out of the black surround. A little silicon spray is a good idea. 6.Reassemble and repeat for the other side.

I have a bugaboo chamelon pram , the two round white knobs at the side for reclining seem to be stuck and wont click back into place !! making the carrycot?pushchair unstable

If the Cameleon is under two years old then it is covered by the warranty. The best thing to do is to contact the retailer you purchased the pushchair from or contact Bugaboo direct (www.bugaboo.com). They should arrange for a set of replacement buttons for the seat frame and instructions to be sent to you. If it is out of warranty, you'll just need to purchase these spare parts from them.
