If the volume control is set to max then its possible that the speaker itself is bad. Contact Whistler at 800-531-0004 to order a replacement speaker. The cost is $10 which includes shipping.

What amp fuse does the Whistler SL500 radar detector take? It is an inline fuse that goes into the plug for the cigarette lighter, and I have lost it?

All Whistler radar detectors have a 2 amp fuse in the plug part of the power cord. To access the fuse you need to unscrew the tip of the plug to gain access. If the tip is missing you can email info@whistlergroup.com with details and they can get the missing parts to you.

Kwhat are the amps on a 1510?

If you need a replacement fuse, the correct fuse is a 2 Amp glass type fuse. If you are asking about what the current draw from the battery is on this radar detector, its about 1/4 of an amp.

Whistler 1730 keeps blowing fuses. no other problems with cigarette lighter plug

Is the lighter socket fuse blowing or the fuse in the unit's power cord? Have you tried another power cord from a Friends radar detector? If it doesn't blow that power cord's fuse, then your power cord is bad. If it does blow the fuse in the other power cord, there could be something wrong with the unit. Contact Whistler at info@whistlergroup.com

Whistler 1480 does not power up.

Does the lighter socket power other devices? If so, did you check the fuse in the units power cord? Its in the plug part that goes into the lighter socket. Its a 2 amp fuse.

My whistler 220 radar detector just quit working after working with no problems for about 9 months. Anything I could do to try and fix it?

Check the fuse in the unit's power cord. It is in the plug section of the cord. Unscrewn the tip of the plug to gain access to the fuse. It will be a 2 Amp glass style fuse.
