Sanyo PLV-55WM1 Hi, i have a Sanyo Plv-55wm1 micro device flat display rear projector television. Recently it has been working fine but know when i switch the screen on, it powers up for a few seconds with sound then switches its self off. It will then try to switch back on but sounds like the fan gives up before the picture can appear on the screen. I would really be grateful of any help or advice on what the problem maybe!! Thank you

Hi I read your problem with the Sanyo PLV-55wm1. It sounds to me like a power supply problem. Like most new electronics devices, they use a switched mode power supply (SMPS)to supply the voltages to the rest of the set. Many of them use a current feedback loop to sense a short in the circuits that it powers. I would check for a shorted diode in the high voltage section of the tv. If any one of the components is shorted around the high voltage circuit, The current control line will be zero forcing the regulator to shut down.
