SOURCE: I just bought ASUS K61IC-x3, where is preloaded

Windows 7 x32 recovery disk is used when you have to recover the Windows 7 x32 from a disaster. It works very well but when you want to install or setup Windows 7 x32you have to buy a new Windows 7 x32. Once it is setup and you use your system and you find that the Windows 7 x32 is making some serious problems then you use Window 7 x32 recovery disk. These disks are not the same.

Hope I answered the question.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: I have an ASUS U52F

There's a few things that could be the cause but the first thing you ALWAYS want to check on a laptop with network connection problems is that the wireless switch is in the on position. It should be located on the left side of your laptop if it's facing you. Here is a picture if you still need help to find it.an0n0mus_2.jpg

I have an asus u52f or also known as the u53f with the windows 7 version i caught a virus n did not have the recovery disc after i ordered from asus n loaded the disc once i cam to the utilities n drivers...

Why didn't you just get rid of the virus which is the easy solution? Or you could have done a System Restore to a restore point (date and time) before you caught the virus.

Unfortunately most times those Recovery Discs don't work. The best Recovery Disk that works is the one the manufacturer puts on your hard drive.

Have you checked your hard drive to see if there is a Recovery Partition on it?

See if you can run the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

If all fails Sounds like your operating system needs to be reinstalled or you can do a system recovery to set it back to when you first bought it.

Hi,

This is a windows software issue you will need to reinstall windows, I would back your laptop up if you have any data you wish to keep onto disk and use your recovery disks that you should have got with your laptop. If you have no disks and you can log into your laptop there is usually a program that will let you create recovery disks. Create them and use them to reinstall your operating system.

This should solve the desktop error.

Hope this helps need anymore info feel free to ask.
