Can't scan with HP Officejet 6110 from document holder
I have a HP Officejet 6110 all-in-one hooked up to an iMac (dual processor). I can't seem to be able to scan documents from the document holder. Each time I try I get a message saying "Cannot scan yet. Select destination using Scan To". When I select a destination using the Scan To button, such as 'PDF to Acrobat Reader' and then hit Start Scan or Enter, and after a while I keep getting a message saying "Scanning error. Cannot connect to PC. Press Enter to continue". I can scan off the glass or from my Mac using HP Director. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem? Thankyou.

This is covered in the following support document from HP: (start troubleshooting at the top of the page, quit when problem resolved). Failing these solutions, your OfficeJet 6110 may need service/repair.
I suppose there was a problem in your driver installation. For most USB devices, it is recommended that the drivers be copied/installed on the pc prior to attaching it via the cable. So, if you attached the printer to the pc before copying its driver to the hard disk, you are likely not to have the right result ok. Put back the driver cd/dvd into the drive tray and uninstall. Restart your pc and then follow the step above. Good luck
Once try to scan from the scanners and camera wizard to check the two way communication between the computer and the all-in-one.
Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.
From the Imaging application, click
, and then click
Select the HP all-in-one device from the TWAIN source list.
, and then
Imaging for Windows will scan from the all-in-one product using TWAIN software instead of the HP software.
If you are able to scan by performing the above steps then search for the file hpqscnvw.exe and try to scan from there.
If you are not able to scan even from the above steps, once refresh the USB cable and then try to scan again.
if you are able to scan from that file then try to scan from HP Director, if the issue persists then create a shortcut icon for that file and then try to scan else uninstall the software and reinstall.
