First thanks for choosing

Most times a new ups does not have its internal batteries connected yet. Follow the manual to connect the batteries. If they are already connected plug the device in for at least a day to let them charge. Make sure nothing is plugged into the UPS durring this time. Also make sure you have pressed the "Power" button on the device to turn it on. Some have a switch on the side while others have a button on the top where everything plugs in.

Hope this helps.

I had a power outage due to too many appliances going. In switching circuit breaker back, my PC doesn't connect to internet via ethernet.

First thing to try is rebooting your modem. Do this by removing the power cord from the modem and wait a couple of minutes and plug it back in. The lights on the modem should start blinking right after plugging it back in and it will take a while before it has rebooted completely. If the modem lights do not blink after you plug the power cord back in, there is a very good possibility that your modem has been "burned out" because of the procedure you used of just resetting the circuit breaker.
It could also be that your router needs to be reset. Open up your browser and look on the bottom of the router for an IP address; it looks like After locating this number, copy it into the address box of the browser and press enter. After doing so, just follow the directions on the screen.

User Safety Question : Daewoo refigerator FR-061 not use for 15 years (brand New still in Box)

If your refrigerator has never been unpacked from its original packaging and protective materials then it should be safe to follow the installation instructions that came with the unit and connect it to a power socket of the correct rating.

The main issue that could arise with the refrigerator having been stored for almost 15 years is if there has been any loss of coolant from the sealed refrigeration system. As this is normally stored as a liquid gas it may be impossible to tell if any leakage has occurred unless there is any noticeable discolouration. If there is any concern over leakage, then you should contact a qualified refrigeration engineer to inspect and check the coolant system.

Finally, you perhaps should be addressing your question to the manufacturer of the refrigerator rather than to a public help site such as this one, assuming that Daewoo still make such devices.

Note: If it is of any assurance, I have a refrigerator which is over 25 years old and is still in daily use with no problems other than being a little noisy!

My Tripp Lite UPS has a flashing yellow light for the battery. What does this mean and how do I get it back on line.

The light means that the life of the battery has expired. It needs to be replaced.

You did not mention a model number- I believe that some older Tripp Lites have a bypass button in the rear that will allow it to start up with either a dead battery or no battery at all. If you have such a button, unplug the UPS. Press and hold the button in, plug your UPS back in, and keep holding it in for about ten seconds. Alternatively, try unplugging your UPS, pressing and holding the front ON button, and plugging in while continuing to hold the button, again for about ten seconds. If there is no response, your unit probably does not have a bypass capability.

Most newer UPS syatems will not allow you to operate them unless the battery is in good condition. You may have no option but replacing the battery to continue using your unit.

My computer screen is black and I can't get it to turn on

Sorry to ask such a silly question but are you sure you have the power cable in the back of the monitor tightly? Sometimes it feels as if it has gone in, but it needs an extra push. Also, at times it may have gone in upside down, which won't help at all.

And for the bonus points ... is the other end plugged into a wall socket, UPS box, or other a/c provider? If so, make sure it is in tightly there, as well, and that the a/c is providing power; a circuit breaker may have tripped for that socket, so if you have other gear plugged in and that stuff is working, then you know the socket is not the problem.

One more thing is to be sure the cable from the computer to the monitor is plugged in properly at both ends. Sometimes, the OPC end looks like a Serial adapter plug, and if you plug it into the wrong adapter, you will not get any images, nor will you get any warning.

Finally, depending upon how old the monitor is, it is entirely possible that the internal power supply is dead. If that is the case, you may need to get a new monitor.

Good luck,

Computer will not come on when you press the power button after a lightening storm

First check the outlet, power strip, UPS etc. that the computer is plugged into. Many devices have a circuit breaker that will need to be reset after a power surge. Once you establish that you're getting power to the computer, check the power supply on the back of your computer - next to the power cord connector. Many power supplies have a fuse or circuit breaker. If there is no reset function or fuse then you will need to replace the power supply. These are inexpensive, simple to replace, and easy to find on sources such as eBay and Amazon.

I hope this helps.

Battery back-up doesn't hold power...

there are 3 possible reasons why you are having this type of problem.
  1. The power source or outlet might be having a partial contact. try to plug your UPS into another wall outlet socket (Not an extension socket). observe the behavior. if it persists, try to change your UPS power cable (It might have short circuit somewere that is not allowing the UPS to charge properly) If this fails too, try the next step.
  2. The solid yellow light means 2 things. either you have a problem with your batery or your battery is dead and needs a complete replacement.
  3. Either way, get another battery and try it out. Before you change your battery, try using the UPS on another PC and observe the behavior. the fault might be from your PC. if you observe the same thing, then you may need to get another battery. Cheers!
