It cuts in and out when I use it

Normally, that is caused by either a loose connection inside, or a bad microphone cable or connection. If the microphone is stable and working, flex the cable to see if there are any shorts or opens. Gently shake the microphone to see if you can hear any loose parts or movement.

How to mute EMBEDDED microphone on a panasonic HD avccam

The experiences I had so far on the better quality sets is that as soon as an external microphone plug is inserted the built in mike automatically go off. I therefore can only think that the socket for external mike, has a short circuit in the cut off circuit the plates of the cut out is bent or just out of adjustment. Some of then have an embedded micro switch for switching the circuits will have to be replaced

My u87 cuts out when you get to close but comes back on in 2 secs seems to be wind pressure from singing. many thanks Graham

problem is a dirty capsule caused when fogged with humidity from breath it shorts out temporarily. it maybe possible to have it professionally cleaned but may need to be replaced. DO NOT USE FOAM POP FILTERS. Spend the money on a metal one. back off if you wanna save some loot.

ATR3350 Microphone: Battery in. Plugged into laptop. Recorded video. ATR3350 Mic is ignored. Audio is still recorded from my Logitech Webcam software. How does this thing work?

You need to tell your computer which microphone / sound source to use.
In he absence of other instructions it is defaulting to the built in microphone.
Normally your sound-card software should detect a new device plugged in and ask you to confirm it. However if it is not doing so you may need to change the audio settings.
How to correct this will vary slightly depending on which operating system you are using.

Using a microphone with computer

To use any microphone with your computer you will need to enable it in control panel. The following instructions are for Windows XP but are broadly similar for Vista and Win7

Click START, CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES

Click VOICE

Now click the VOLUME button in the SOUND RECORDING BOX. Here you need to SELECT microphone as an input source for recording (as opposed to un-checking mute in the playback controls). If your webcam/ microphone is built in to the laptop there should also be a volume control called 'Internal MIC' - disable it by placing a check-mark in the mute box.

NOTE if microphone (or internal MIC) is not listed in the 2 sets of volume controls click OPTIONS, PROPERTIES on the tool-bar and place a check against microphone in the list entitled 'show the following volume controls' and then click OK.

That should be it but it is possible you may also need to turn off the microphone in the software for your web-cam.

I'm on Skype, and the person I'm talking to cannot hear me. They can hear feedback sounds from their computer and their voice, but can't hear me talk. This a Toshiba with a built in video camera and...

The problem seems to be with your friend's setup, and possibly yours. Try adjusting mic levels and volume levels to where they don't interfere with each other. Ex.--you talk , they hear you at a volume that is too loud and it gets into their mic, creating a loop....feedback. You do the same too. Trial and error. Hope this is helpful.

I have a toshiba l305-S5957 and can't find an internal mic for use with skype

While most laptops comes with a built in webcam and microphone, this particular model does not. If you don't see a web cam built in to the top of your screen, chances are you also won't find an internal microphone. You'll need to purchase additional accessories in order to use your laptop with Skype.

Buzzin on my web cam mic

check all your grounds. Is the computer outlet have a proper ground? Sometimes if your using a sound card make sure its grounded to case of computer.Make sure cable that feeds mic is not laying over a 110v cord as that can pick up a 60Hz buzz or hum noise as well. Hope this helped sometimes its trial and try again....

AKG C418 is not working!

it works its probably just that you dont have your drivers set up right same problem here with my usb mic you gotta go into sound and change the standard mic to the mic you want to use and if you have a web cam mic also hooked up you will want to disable web cam mic (not the web cam) in drivers these 2 mics are having conflict of interest
