How to solder a loose wire from a psp go sony charger

First you will need a pin out of the adapter.
Tools you will need are.
1: Solder with rosin core thin solder would be best 2: Soldering iron lower watts the better 3: Flux to clean the surface you want to solder to 4: Sponge to clean the tip of solder iron If you don't have any of thous supply's it would be cheaper to buy a new cord. Also if you don't have vary much experience soldering i would also recommend getting a new cord for the fact you can cause more damage than good.

To get the solder iron ready you need to heat it up. Once it is hot enough to melt the solder apply the solder to the tip and let is set there until you want to solder. You have to clean the tip off with a wet sponge but not soaked in water just enough to get it wet. Every time you go to solder Clean the tip off and apply fresh solder to it not a lot just enough to cover the tip when you want to solder. When you go to store the iron apply a small blob of solder to the tip to keep it from oxidizing.
Strip the wire shielding off a bit longer than the size of the contact you want to solder. Twist the wire and put flux on the surface you want to solder and tin them.
Tinning the wire is just applying a small amount of solder to the wire as to hold the strands together and make it easier to transfer the heat and solder to the contacts. Now mach the pin-out to the weirs to the contacts and put flux on the contact you want to solder to. Clean the surface by applying flux to it.The surface will be oxidized and will not let you transfer heat or solder to the surface. The key to soldering is to use the right amount of heat , solder and time you hold the iron to what your soldering to. You want to make sure you touch the wire and the contact you are soldering to as to transfer the heat to both items at the same time to make the solder flow. Put the solder wire to the tip of iron that is touching the wire and contact and not on top of the iron tip. Any time you apply heat to solder joints you want to use flux to keep them clean and free of oxidized material. After you solder check the solder joints for cracks, uneven and dull surface. You want the solder to look as shiny as possible and smooth. If it looks like it has waves or holes and cracks it means you have a cold solder joint and must reheat and apply flux with a small amount of solder to fix it .Here is a link to help you out this is not my site and full credit goes to the owner of site. How To Solder Soldering Tutorial Also put a link to a new cord if you decide you want to get a new one. Here is a link that may or may not help with the pin-out. My DS Lite has a big blob of water in the touch screen because I cleaned it and used too much and it sunk it. It's bigger today than it was last night. I turned it on and the thing barely responds to...

Good day mw02261,

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. I do own an NDS Lite as well but I do not use any kind of liquid to clean it. I just use a soft cloth that you normally use for cleaning eyeglasses. With regards with your problem, do you have any idea how to open up the case of a DS Lite? If you haven't done this before and your console is still within warranty I do advise that you seek assistance from someone who knows how to do it.

If you are a DIY'er, here is a good YouTube video on how to open it up. You might need to use precision screwdrivers/tri-wing to open up the casing.

I reflowed my motherboard but didn't flux it. the ylod was fixed for around 3 hours. it has come back on. am going to try and reflow again tonight. should i flux it if so where do i put the flux. also is...

Hi there. I use flux every time I do a reflow. The reason for this is that it helps the molten solder flow much better and stops oxidation of the solder which can cause bad solder joints. The whole point of a reflow is to "mend" the hairline cracks that have appeared in the solder under the GPU and the CPU. Without flux this is harder to do. As to where you put the flux, you need to actually put around 4-5 drops on one side of the GPU and CPU and then tilt the motherboard so it runs underneath the chips. Do that for each side. Do not worry if the flux goes on other components, if you use "no clean" flux this is fine and will not do any damage. You basically need to make sure that the GPU and CPU are thoroughly "wet" underneath them where they are soldered onto the motherboard.

If a second reflow does not work or the fan speed increases to maximum after only being on for a short time then it is highly likely that the GPU or CPU have actually been permanently damaged from either the reflow or the original overheating. Only a replacement is going to fix this.

Also make sure you hold the air gun about an inch away from the chips for around 20 seconds. If you have a heat gun you can set to around 300 degrees celsius, all the better. If your heat gun is one that does not have adjustable heat settings, be very careful how long you heat the GPU and CPU up for. More heat means less time heating the chips

Hope this helps

My ps3 won't turn on. I got the Yellow light of death and took it apart once, fixed it with the re-flow process, Yet I got it again a week later. I performed the same process and now it doesn't work. i...

First off Sony won't fix it but they will charge you for sending it in and then they will tell you that you have to purchase a new one. Second when you did the reflow did you flux the board because if you didn't then when you reflow the board without fluxing then you will dry out the board and the connections will not resolder.

On my xbox disc i have about two or three sratches but i dont know how to clean it.

Cleaning it won't remove the scratches but to clean, you need CD/DVD cleaner solution with a special cloth and spray a little liquid on and rub very gently in circles, never across or back and forth.Greg

Red flashing light 80gb 3-4yrs old

You basically got the YLOD or Yellow Light Of Death, its when u turn it on it will flash a yellow light first then beeps twice & flashes red, And u can fix that without sending it to Sony coz it will cost a lot more. So here's what u need: Heat Gun,liquid flux, Screw Drivers, Heat Sink Compound (white one), some thing that u can use to clean the system and just watch this video from part 1 to 6:

Fluxing Video:

I suggest that u should have someone help u to use the tools(if u dont know how to use it).

Ways to prevent YLOD comeback:

- Put the system in "VERTICAL STAND" so it saves space while "Increasing airflow for better heat management."

- Put the system into a place where "nothing is blocking the air vents."

- Turn it off when not in use(or turn on auto shutdown into 1 hour).

- Eject disc when "not" in use.

- Give it a break! don't use it the whole day, 10 hours is the maximum play time that i recommend coz the graphic chip might get too hot that it will cause the system to shutdown.

X box 360 wont rad disc

You can try cleaning the lens with a q-tip in a circular motion, but majority of the time the laser needs to be replaced.

I don't recommend you try doing this yourself. You'll have to find someone on craigslist or a local console repair shop.

Or there are a few companies online that can do it too.

The prices aren't the best so I would consider selling your broken unit on ebay and then purchasing a new one.

That way you've got a 1 year warranty at least.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best of luck!

Game cartridge

Gameshark has been known to corrupt both saved games and games themselves. Did someone at the store tell you to clean it with toothpaste and alcohol? I'm thinking what happened is the electronics were damaged due to either the toothpaste, the alcohol or both. Nintendo recommends cleaning your cartridges with a dry cloth to get the dust out. If it had some sort of liquid spilled on it before, which it sounds like it may have such as coca cola or the like, then it would have been damaged before you bought it.
