Video input source is changed by the buttons:
1. Video Source
2. Input
3. TV/Video
4. Source

one of those four on the remote some where.

Also, chances are your TV itself will have one of those buttons somewhere.
Usually pressing it will either cycle through the inputs or bring up a selection of them, which is usually navigated by either arrow buttons on your remote or the channel up and down keys.
Lemme know how it goes.

How do I get to my HDMI channel?

It isn't a 'channel' it is a connection port. Once a cable box or DVD / blue Ray player is plugged into it, you choose the port using the Input button on your remote and scroll through them.

That set has 2 HDMI connectors on the back panel, right side, more or less by themselves, to the lower left of the antenna jack.

See the link. In the cluster of 3 photos, click the center one, then zoom it. Source(s): http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QWOJIeQP36Y... kg7or ยท 4 years ago

How do I get a vhs video to show on my tv?

Not only do you have to hook up the wires correctly, once you have them attached, you must then select the proper input source to view the video. Since TVs have multiple input sources, the remote control allows the user to select which connected input to view.

Why are my channels fuzzy?

Hi Virginia,
I have the manual link for you for your TV, basically your issue falls into INPUT issue. Kindly check if the INPUT of your TV is correct. Steps below:

- INPUT SELECT button- Press to select
TV or the external input (VIDEO1,
VIDEO2) mode.
(See USING AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT JACKS.

- AUDIO (INPUT) L/R jacks- Connect to
the left/right channel audio output jacks of
a video camera or VCR.
Note: The AUDIO (INPUT)L jack is for
mono input. The sound is heard from both
speakers. Use this jack for monaural audio
equipment to be hooked up.

These steps is in page 2 of the manual. Hope it helps.

For some reason, my DVD player just started showing up in black and white. Also, when I select the "source" on my TV remote, instead of showing the option "AV" for the DVD player, it...

Select AV as your source and that should cure the problem as long as you have the video and audio cables connected to the right inputs. You could also use an S-Video cable instead of the video cable for better picture quality depending on your TV model (assuming it has a S-video input). Your owners manual(s) will probably have diagrams for you to follow.

Tv is showing 480p and we want it at 1080p on our new Toshiba 40XV648 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz HD LCD TV Cinema Series.

After searching the owners manual I find that there is nothing mentioned about the screen resolution i.e. 480p to 1080p.

This set is capable of your desired resolution and as far as I can tell it auto selects because it senses the input video and decides which is the best setting for that source.

It's important to understand that you need 1080p video to use it at it's full capabilities. It won't give you a 1080p resolution from a VCR or a standard DVD player. You need a DVD player that is capable of producing a 1080p encoded video. Some satellite receivers are capable of that but you need to make sure you know what resolution that you are sending to the television.

Local TV stations won't usually broadcast HD at 1080p. Your best bet is to use a DVD player that is capable of that high resolution for your best picture.

Please note that what it says in the owners manual about "Resolution" has nothing to do with the 480p, 720p or 1080p signals, your set selects that automatically it will start by selecting the 1080p then goes to 720p then 420p it's dependent on the video you send to the set.

Please note the "resolution" function is actually like a "sharpness" control.

Your video input (tuner, VCR, DVD, games and etc.) is likely your problem.

How to connect the laptop to tv

Depending on the Laptop and Television you have this may or may not be possible. there are usually an external Video source on the back of the laptop that you can purchase a video cable for. If you have a newer television it will have a VGA connection on the back of it as well. Just plug the cable to both units and switch the video source on the tv to VGA then on windows change the display options to use the external video source. If you need more detail please let me know.
