Question about HP Compaq Presario 1500US (470038-813) PC Notebook
I have an older compact laptop..Everything still works great except it keeps overheating then shutting down..I have replaced the power cord once and have checked the vents to make sure that there are not any obstructions... It has the older operating system windows 2000xp home edition.. I am using as a desktop and laptop...Any suggestions? Thank you....
Check the fan, it may have stopped spinning. If the fan bearing has seized, you may be able to free it by removing the fan label covering the bearing and oiling it. If it does't work, replace it.
If the fans spins freely then remove the fan and clear dust from the heat sink fins.
