What site are you going to?

I am assuming you are trying to watch web videos? What browser are you using (IE, Firefox).

I would make sure you don't have any pop-up blockers site for the sites you are trying to watch videos on.

Please do not post in caps as that is the equivalent to yelling.

What browser are you using?
I suggest you download Firefox and try to see if the videos load for you.

not a problem, any question you have jsut ask!

Browser is the program you are using to surf (browse) the Internet. Google is just a website, as youtube and a bajillion others.

Since this is your first computer it is safe to say your are using IE (Internet Explorer) That is the big ble E on your desktop (computer main screen withh all the icons on it). The top of the page google is on, will read: "Google - Windows Internet Explorer"

I would recommend that you install the Windows updates before we go on. Some updates are patches that can fix things like this.

    To run Windows Update:

    • Find the TOOLS menu on the top of the screen in Internet Explorer and click on it.

    • Click on the Windows Update text
Following the instructions listed here as it may have you install some validation software to make sure it is a valid copy of Windows.

Once you do that, try your sites again and post back the restults

I recently upgraded my Internet Explorer to IE11 on both of my computers. No problem with my HP laptop, but with the HP laptop I cannot play embedded videos from several sites, including Bing and CNB

Well, your first problem is you are using Internet Explorer.
My suggestion would be to install Google Chrome and/or Firefox.
You will get a better experience in playback and in browsing speed.
Once installed you can download the extensions necessary to playback almost everything.

Hope this helps

Hbogo online Video Player Error

I encountered this same issue and finally solved it by deleting the Flash Player Site Data and Settings:
2b2f40f3-fdad-42ca-8ab8-ee42d99b025c.jpgI accessed this from the Settings tab of the Flash Player Settings Manager, which is accessed via the Windows Control Panel. (If you have a 64-bit Windows but a 32-bit Flash note that it will be buried down on the 32-bit Control Panels page.)
Hope this helps you. After I ran the delete I could once again watch videos on HBOGo. The D-1006 error has not reappeared.

Picmeta PIE program freezes up when selecting files

Do your friends run 64-bit Windows? If not, then uninstall this from your PC and go to their web site. Try to find a version specifically for 64-bit Operating Systems.

If you cannot get it to work at all, then uninstall it completely, so it does not interfere with other applications.

The bar will dissapear away from the screen if you do not move the mouse, try moving the curser to the bottom of the screen and see if that will bring it back

Hi, I recently purchased a Gateway NV52u laptop, running the Vista 64bit operating system. Recently, I noticed that whenever I play music on Windows Media Player or Pandora, I hear severe static, both...

Yes, you are having driver issues with the applications that are giving you problems. Did you upgrade your media player yourself or automaticly? There is a 64 bit version for vista to install. I expect that the media player is the application hat pandora is riding on top of as well. A suggestion is to remove media player, and download the 64 bit version and install. If you have the 64 bit version now, it might be corrupt or something. Still remove it and get it again. There are services attached to the media player as well that are enhancements such as things for the mixer and equalizer.. these have to be 64 bit compatible as well.. somewhere you have some either corrupted software and enhancements or ones that are not 64 bit capable.. hope that helps you out (look at enhancements first, then pandora, then MSMP)..
thanks!

How to use windows media player or any other to play music/videos

Download the Flash Player. Flash Player dosn't support 64 Bit OS. Then try playing the media on a different computer or go to network and sharring and then click on share media. and allow access to other to play or edit this file.

Check to see if you are running the latest video drivers. If you do, you may want to revert back to the 64 bit system.

DVD Codec

Windows media player will play very few DVD's on it's own. It needs to work in conjunction with a decoder. You can find a decoder, ie... Power DVD, WinVid, InterVid, etc..., at Dell's support site or filehippo.com. I use Power DVD on mine with no problems. Also, the configuration that you have will not have a noticeable or any effect on videos. They will play fine, once you have a decoder.

Gateway P6860fx Shutdown

for what its worth I have the same laptop..bought it from best buy as you did.I play a lot of 3d games..I play Crysis for hours at a time as well as F.E.A.R. and have never had a shut down problem.I would suggest taking it back to best buy.The only thing I have found to be a problem with this laptop is that its a 64 bit operating system.I have Vista 32 bit on my other computer and have never had a problem..the 64 bit has given me driver problems on a few programs that I use to use.I'm actually thinking of doing a fresh install and put in vista 32 bit.Haven't decided yet..still searching for more info on the 2 systems.
Anyway..I'd take it back.
PS..the fan is working isn't it?
