Question about Patton PUH680-U Utility Heater
I have an old TITAN electric heater, dating back to the 1980's. It has
a durable all-metal case (Titan Sales Corp, Sedalia, Missouri, Model
17608, 1300-1500 Watts) and appears to be a very similar early
precursor to the Patton PUH680-U. All of the heater is still working
perfectly, except for the old thermostat, which has old contacts that
get welded together and stick from all the "on-off" arcing during
normal operation. The old thermostat appears to be replaceable with a
more modern version from the Patton PUH680-U, but I haven't been able
to find a source, price, etc for this replacement. Using your in-house
search engine gave unsatisfactory results. Can you help?
I do not know if this heater is on any product recall but we have used patton heaters for years and pretty much have had good luck with them. However there is a fire hazard present if you set or store combustibles to close to the front.Tip over switches don't always work and I would never recommend using a heater of this type in a unsupervised area.I hope this is of some help to you. Thank you and happy holidays.

Must be an older model heater. All the recent ones have a 3 prong plug. Especially, since the recall a couple of years ago on the PUH680-U Heater.
