Simple as that. I cannot find a straight answer to the problem without buying new hardware or getting it "reburbished" which I dont believe will solve the problem. Just looking for a better understanding

Re: Scratched 360 Disks
Have you tried using a lense cleaning siak? The scratches are from the lense acutally hitting the disk from trying to focus.. A good lense cleaning disk may help beyond that it may have to be serviced. I know its not he answer you want to hear but a lense cleaner is the cheaper option and its worth a shot, buy one that works on dvd lenses i wouldnt spend less than 15 bucks on one, as the cheaper ones are worthless except for cd players. The higher end ones actually have a cleaning pad on them.

It depends how badly scratched your Modern Warfare 2 disk is. There are scratch repair kits, but they can only do so much. If a scratch repair kit doesn't do the trick, take your disk to a place like Best Buy or Gamestop. They have professional solutions to fix your disk. Beyond that, you can always try calling up the game developer. They sometimes have warranty for scratched disks.
9 out of 10 times when a game is not working anymore it is because the disk is scratched. Unfortunately there is no way to fix a scratched disks, and anything that promises to fix scratches will either do nothing or make it worse. I would suggest buying a used copy of the game from a local retailer.
you cannot fix this problem without purchasing a replacement disc, you may however get around the problem if you can borrow a friends copy of the game and install it onto your xbox, once that is done you can use your scratched copy to actually run the game as the xbox only checks if the disc is inserted and not if the data is on the disc.
Simple answer, dirty lens, and lens cleaner disc will fix. Or, scratched game- replace game. If these do not help, your disc drive has most likely gone out and your system will require service. If you can, clarify with more information as to what your problem is.
Not sure what could be the problem. Try and install your games to the hard drive and if they don't and the disks are not scratched then you may need to buy a new xbox. Try Yahoo! Answers and Google. Xbox support may also be a good help.
your unit is still under warranty if you bought it new the best thing to do is call the xbox number and they will send you a fedex box to put it in and send out my xbox took about 2 month to fix and they gave me a free month to their online services hope this helps
1. you move, shake or touch xbox while running or disk is iin.
2. The disk reader is to close to the disk.
Solution: Open up xbox,. find disk reader, take picture. Show to people at game-stop, they'll tell u what to do.
3. Xbox is broken or faulty
Solution: Get your money back and buy a new one or don't and keep buying games when the old 1 gets scratched
