You need to check your routers firewall setting by accessing your router through the pc and make sure your plug and play settings are enabled. all can be found on the router setup page. the playstation only requires you to enter the WPSK or WPA wireless encryption key to log on so the problem is usually with the router....hope this helps.

What is the WPA or WEP of Netgear wireless router WGR614 v7. I need it to hook up PS3

The passcodes are set up when you install the device, you can login to your router by navigating to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 to change or find your password.

I have a netgear wgr614 router and can't get my ps3 to play online.(upnp is not available)

Most routers have a menu you can access.
There you must forward your ports.
You must find out what ports ps3 uses and put them into your gaming ports.
Depending on your router settings you may need to do specific assignments.
This should get you going.
Xbox requires me to have the proper internet settings to access my router.
Portforward.com helps noobs to forward ports on your router by use of your computer. Once they are open, your UPnp will be set.
It may seem hard, but once you give it a shot, you will be happy.

PS3 and Netgear WGR614 V7 Router

Basically the PS3 wireless settings needs to be configures with the Netgear wireless router settings.
To test if the modem is connects to the Internet, connect a computer into the modem, if it works then the modem is configured correctly. If it doesn't work, then contact your ISP and get them to test your modem connection.

I have a netgear wireless router, I also have a new PS3, I want to access the internet via the PS3 but have lost my WEP key for the router. Whats the easiest way of finding the WEP key Thanks Darren

wep key or router administrative password?
if you have router admin password, you just go to your router settings and reset, delete all WEP key setting
(i assume one that connect to your router is only the PS3)
The setting should be web-based.
connect a pc to your router using LAN/ethernet port.
Access the router (you should know the router
ip address) via IE ex: http://192.168.0.1/
Read your router manual for details.

Ps3 nat type 3

In order to achieve NAT 2, you are going to have to set your PS3 to a static IP address and forward ports on your router.

detailed instructions on how to do this and configure your ps3 can be found here:
http://www.pregamelobby.com/forum/sony-reviews-tips/5618-how-get-type-2-open-nat-your-ps3.html

In order to get into your router settings, go to 192.168.0.1 OR www.routerlogin.net (the router sets up its own DNS) and putting in your username and password. If you have not set up a password, the default username and password for this router is "admin"/"password". Follow the instructions in the page I posted once you are logged into the router's webmin.

Hope this helps!
