Pry out with a needle like tool from the side: half mm each time. Pry from the left side (thin side) a little bit then on the right, you may need a lot patience until you pull it out. You would pull much better if you had some surgical suturing forceps with the tiny teeth on them.

Power button stuck down on my sony cyber shot dsc s600

Possible that this is a mechanical failure and the switch is broken or out of place. Remove the battery and check the charge, if this seems fine then replace and tap the camera upside to see if the buttons resets.
If not the camera must be taken out, try to open ONLY if you have the correct tools and do not try to open otherwise to damage the unit.
Best option is to take an opinion from Sony for estimation.

I place the sd card in slot but no picture appears on the lcd screen

Hi naggy6,

First of all ,please make sure that you have inserted the SD card in the right slot and when you have done it , you would not see the images automatically , rather you have to go in the my computer options and then select the removable drive relevant to your SD card which will have all the images inside it.

If you need any further specific assistance , please let me know , i would be there and would love to help you...

Hope this helps ..:)

MY MEMORY CARD WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN I PUSH IT INTO SD SLOT

  • Most likely the SD card is not being pushed in far enough to lock into place. You really need to use your fingernail to push it in past flush until you hear a clicking sound, at which point the card will lock into place.
  • Here are full instructions for insertion and removal of the SD card: Insert the memory card with the metal contacts going into the slot first and facing up at you. In other words the SD card label should be upside down when you insert it this way. You need to push the card in past flush to have the spring mechanism lock the card into place. To get the card out of the slot, push the card in past flush and then the spring mechanism will release it. You will hear a click when the card locks into place or is released from the slot.

I was cleaning my camera mirrors and the lens, two of them along with a brass colored and chrome frames fell out and I I don't know what order they go back in. They are the lense that make the viewfinder...

A year later but I had exactly the same problem and after much trial and error worked it out. They go together as follows...

With the camera held upside down looking into the body, the sequence is:

1st insert the focussing area screen with the etched markings, with the small side lug to the back left corner and the two little bumps on the flat surface facing down. It slides in best from the back so that the front locates first and it then drops into place.

Next goes the metal spacer with the thicker side to the right and the small locating slots to the back. Again it slides in best from the back to the front so that the front edge locates first and then it should just drop into place.

The frosted glass goes in next with the two locating lugs to the back and facing downwards so they will locate into the metal spacer.

Finally the retaining clip should fit with the small protrusion locating into the small slot to the rear of the assembly. Gently push the front clip backwards and downwards until it clips into place.

Job done! Quite fiddly to get the parts to locate properly though - not really a job for stubby fingered person like me!

    Hope this helps.

    Coolpix l5 - SD card won't seat

The Nikon are very good about placing a sd symbol on the door of the memory compartment. The trick is to align the dog ear side of the memory stick with the picture on the door the push down until the stick bottoms out in the slot it should then lock in to place. Conversely to remove it push down again until it un locks.

    Sony Cyber-Shot: can't download pics

take the stick to wallmart or a place withe fancy digital camera printouts..and try it there. if it works your camera has might need to clean out the mem slot....I would use a elecrtonic greaseless pure wash from ....radio shack might have it...and spray hard into slot the camera upside down so it drains right out...if still problem get a bright light and amd look into the mem slot (reading glasses)....look at the gold pins...notice if gunk or or anything or bent...if bent u have to very caryfully use fine tools to straigten them. good luck, CL
