Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Cannot download pictures from my camera.

I have done this dozens of times, but no luck today. The camera does not come up with the fact it is linked to the computer, which it was. Tried taking memory card out and downloading through other device, but no luck although the pictures are clearly on camera. My husband tried on his computer but got thhe same results. I am supposed to have sent some to the paper by lunchtime Mon for publication, so this is a real problem. Help please.

I said it was inappropriate because you had asked the questions which I had covered in my original question. You made no suggestions to try and remedy the problem You have made no further effort to help me - just sent a rather piqued request for me to upgrade you without suggesting anything further I could try. In your position you would get better grades if you tried to be pleasant to customers with problems rather than demand an upgrade for nothing. MSC

what was wrong if I asked few questions about your problem? I'm trying to help you and you rated me Inappropriate?
Do you mind to change it as this rating hit my ranking badly.

Excuse me, This is free forum and you posted question in free area so not a customer. I spend my time to help others for free and when they slapped by such rating...becomes difficult to follow up.
I was collecting info to suggest some thing.
I did not asked you to rate my solution because there is no solution yet.
You may please check again my first 3 lines query, it is not solution and it was just info request for better understanding.
Any way, you have done what you can do yet I would suggest to use another usb cable so PC will recognize camera.
Most probably usb cable is internally broke. You can test / check existing usb cable on another camera, if possible.
    Have a nice time.

The best way to remove all pictures (and everything else) from the memory card is to format it. In fact, the memory card should be formatted in the camera every time you finish downloading pictures from it.

Many times the older version drivers will work as new released operating systems try to be backwards compatible with software. Try loading the XP software or search the Canon website for updated software for your model.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

This question comes up several times a day here in the camera section at Fixya. But please note, it's very hard to troubleshoot individual software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? Please don't take this as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:
