Question about GE GSS25SGMBS Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a GE GSS 201EPD Side by Side. The freezer normally runs about 0-10 degrees. It occaisionally gets up to near 40 degrees (I suspect during defrost). The ice maker works good except that the cubes melt a little and then freeze together in a clump. I had a tech out several times who replaced a burned out defrost heater (unit was icing up). Then he replaced the main board and also some white capsule looking sensors (thermistors?). Anyway over $300 dollars later and I'm still having problems and he gave up on me.
sounds like your just might not be using enough ice and they are defrosting and clumping together.figure your pulling ice from front of bucket the the backs hardly get used espescially in winter your not using as much ice. or ice maker is slightly over flilling water and dripping over rear of unit

SOURCE: Clump of ice in bucket
That means that the evaporator fan system that releases the the ice cubes is not working as it should.
The evaporator fan and heating system must be checked, and fan, or solenoid, or element must be replaced.
Use the number listed on the owner manual if you want to call a technician.
Enter model number on this website to find schematics and replacement parts.
