Nearly all of the Powermates have the same 5 gallon fuel tank.
I'm a little confused, the Powermate 6250s are all 5Kw generators with 6250 watt surge ratings. Is yours really a 10Kw or did I misunderstand which generator you have?

The 220 outlet is only putting out power on one side

What brand of generator and KW? If you onlyone leg of the 22V it us not likely to be the voltage regulator aor rotor. Check to make sure that the voltage is checked right off the stator leads, where they feed the circuit breaker, and not on the load side of the circuit breaker, If you only have 120V on one of the 240V lines at that point, it is the stator winding. Coleman Powermate 5000W has HIGH RPMs until a 3KW load

This generator is less than ideal to use as a home unit. see www.advanced-power-technologies.com and look at residential videos. Basically the voltage is governed by a capacitor on your unit, and ouput is directly propertional to speed. Also the engine is mechanically governered versus an electronic system. This is a common mistake using portables to power home equipment. You will damage your home digital equipment, do not use recommended

Where do you buy the gas shut off valve for the 5000 power mate coleman generator with a 5 gal plastic tank.

Take the old valve, called a petcock, to a local lawn mower repair shop and they should be able to help you.

Propane 12 kw powermate when starting will not start unless the solinoid is tapped pretty hard

Model number would be nice. I could look up the starter type. Some starting systems have the solenoid mounted on the starter and on others they are separate. Since the solenoid handles large currents the contacts pit and won't conduct. Banging in it jars the contacts and it conducts...or it could have filled with moisture and is stuck. If the solenoid is mounted on the starter...ditto plus the starter brushes may need replacing. Separate....replace the solenoid. Attached.....replace solenoid and rebuild starter.

Replacing engine on Powermate 5000W Generator

I would say, yes (given everything bolts up okay), but I wouldn't connect a full 5000-watt load to it.
