Ibelieve that your problem is that you have a tape monitor or processor selected, but the respective components are not on or connected. WARNING! BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE VOLUME DOWN BEFORE YOU CHANGE ANYTHING!...accordianman

My Pioneer VSX-519V shut off after I setup my surround speakers ,I did a last test to be sure they were set correct ,I heard a loud pitch come from each speaker rather that the softer shhh sound ,my amp...

I'd disconnect the surrounds and try to bring up the receiver again. If it works you may have only cooked the surrounds. If not, you've possibly cooked the receiver. Disconnect all speakers and try again. If it still won't work then you need a tech to look at it.

What make/model speakers were you trying to set up?

Well i tried all the inputs and even the radio and still no sound jus dont know wut to try?

Check your user manual and do a factory reset. Make sure that the speakers are connected properly, usualy at speaker A terminals. Switch the receiver to the tuner and tune it to a known station. Try different surround modes and direct mode. If there is still no sound you have to repair this receiver.
When you turn on the receiver usually there should be speaker relay clicking sound, in 5-10 seconds after turning on. If no relay sound - protection circuit is activated.
All depends on model of your receiver. What model is it?

Pioneer VSX-D85OS very loud static through speakers.

Its over heating no cheap fix. But wait if u buy an eternal fan n place it on top or behind it will do the trick. Try blowing on top when static happens n sound comes back on.

No sound coming from pr-out subwoofer

I have the same problem, I contacted pioneer and they said that the remote is absolutely necessary. raw deal. I don't care about the remote, I just want the subwoofer on. I'm thinking of getting it, turning the woofer on and returning it. Should cost 70$ canadian or so plus shipping.
