With the power connected press and hold 'Select & Menu' together. The apple symbol should display. Fixed!

    1. How long have you experienced this?

    2. Have you checked for dirt in the connector?

    3. Have you tried to power directly from the mains?

    4. What type of computer and USB port are you trying to plug it into?

    5. The more information, the better.
    Cheers

Hi,
I would suspect either a bad screen, or a bad battery. Can you hear the hard drive turning? Put it next to your ear and see if you hear a whirling sound. If you can hear that, then your screen is gone and needs to be replaced.

Try plugging it into a wall charger. If it comes on then it is the battery. The computer often does not have enough power to make it light up if the battery is really bad. Hope that helps.

Ipod touch will not switch on fully charged left on docking staton all day swiched off with docking station

how many times have you charged it
Ipod batteries have a lifespan so they can only be recharged a certain ammount of times before they need replacing

if it will turn on with a charger either your battery is completely dead or the battery connections are loose or faulty

hope this helps

The slide bar will not slide to unlock on my ipod touch 2nd generation. I've tried restarting. It holds a charge and I can play it on my docking station. I can't use it by itself.

I had the same problem with my iPod touch 3rd Generation, the slide bar will not slide to unlock. I could however use the slide to power off at the top of the screen. I tried everything from rebooting it to a full restore and nothing worked. I finally took the Touch Screen Glass Digitizer off and the ribbon cable that connects to the board had come loose. I pluged it back in and everything worked again.

Charges, plays on docking station, but doesn't play when removed.

try doing a firmware update when you plug it into your computer, there should be an option in iTunes in the My iPod section to check for new firmware.

My ipod is not connecting on Bose docking station.

Some of the older docking stations don't recognize the next gen iPods.
Refer to your user manual to see what iPods are compatible with your system.

Dead ipod

your dock fried your ipod.
it is very common for some unknown reason.
I have replace at least 30 motherboards for this problem.
The iPod is made to be played through the headphone jack.
the dock is an after thought and a terrible one to boot.

as a matter of course though, I would attach your ipod to an A/C charger and see if it comes on.
if it does charge it up, because your battery was dead.
I have no solution other than that.

Ipod nano blinks

I bought an Ipod shuffle 2nd generation yesterday, it charged all night and orange light was still blinking. Tried listening to songs and sometimes it would play but most times wouldn't. Took it back for exchange and same problem. Then I realized the problem is not with the USB plug or computer reoconizing ipod but in the docking itself. I applied pressure on the top side of docked Ipod and bottom of docking station and the computer recognized the Ipod. Release pressure and lose connection. The problem is that the docking station and earbuds do not connect with ipod and the fixes provided by apple doesn't address or fix this problem.
