A message tells me that my resolution should be 1680x1050

The manual tells me to right click on properties on the desktop. I have NO properties icon anywhere on my Vista Home basic system. How do I set the resolution to the right setting?

Right click anywhere on the desktop and select personalize.
When the new window opens, click on Display Settings, and set the Resolution and Color Depth you want.

Change resolution tex ton my computer letters are small i couldly read them

if you want to magnify the screen to see small letters, try this : hold CTRL key and press the +/= key (near the backspace key) to magnify the whole screen, and CTRL -/_ key to make it smaller again.

more permanent solution is to right click anywhere on your desktop background where there are no icons, and set your video properties to something smaller like 800x600, or 1024x768, yours is probably higher like 1680x1050 ....

or with windows 7, just right click anywhere on your desktop background where there are no icons, and click "personalize". then click on where it says "display" on the left side of the window, and change the setting from smaller to medium or larger.

you can change these settings anytime you like, so try these solutions until you find a combination that works the way you want it to look.

did that help?

I just installed cosmi casino on my dell laptop. The display is set for 1680x1050. But when I start up the casino games the display comes up 640x480. I go to the display section on my cmptr. and it...

Maybe the game settings is set to 640x480.Here follow the steps below if this will help you.
  1. Run the Game
  2. At the menu screen, go the the Option then check the video or display settings if it is set to 640x480.
  3. If it is Set to 640x480 change it to 1680x1050.
  4. If the display is already 1680x1050 then try the 2nd option below.
Another option.
  1. On your deskop, Right click the icon of Las Vegas Casino.
  2. Then on the menu, choose properties,
  3. On the Properties, go to the Compatibility Tab.
  4. On the Compatibility Tab, check the display settings if the " Run in 640x480 screen resolution " is activated, if Yes then just uncheck the box and then click apply and Ok.
  5. Run the game and you should be in 1680x1050 resolution now.
Goodluck, hope my solution will help. Please give some feedback regarding my solution.
Thank you very much for using Fixya! Have a Great Day!

I cannot get good resolution in my Hannspree HF229H, what can I do???

The resolution you should be getting is 1680x1050. Under Windows 7, right click on your desktop then open 'Screen Resolution'. If the resolution is set to anything other than 1680x1050, set it to that. If that setting is not available then it is possible that your video card does not support that resolution. This would only effect old computers. If the resolution is set to 1680x1050 but you don't have the proper resolution onscreen, try adjusting the monitor settings using the buttons on the bottom of your monitor. Hope this help and have a nice day!

To change your monitor's resolution

1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.

2. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

3. Drag the Screen resolution slider to the left to decrease the resolution of your monitor, making text and pictures appear larger. Or drag the Screen resolution slider to the right to increase your monitor's resolution, making text and pictures appear smaller.

4. Click Apply to have the new resolution take effect.

I got a message to say the resolution needed to be changed. When I clicked OK all the icons on my desktop were enlarged. How can I can them back to their original size.

Right-click the desktop and go to Properties, then click the Settings tab.
Set the screen resolution to something larger, e.g.,. if it shows 800x600, change it to 1260x1070. If that makes your icons too small, change it to 1070x768.
It is a slide control on the bottom left.
Good luck!
Thanks
