Question about Breville BKC600XL Coffee Maker

1 Answer

BKC600XL Stainless Steel Coffee Just purchased...during the priming no water entered the machime and it is stuck on "heating". I think i had the water filter on wrong. I fixed that but now need to reset to start the priming process over. How do I do that?

I have the exact same problem. Machine never got through the 'priming' phase and was just stuck on heating. I unplugged the machine after an hour and now I can get it to say 'brewing' but no water comes out.

After trying just about everything (I had the exact problem you describe) I finally got it working.

In my case the reason why it was stuck on heating is because no water was getting into the heating tank. I removed the charcoal filter, unplugged my machine and plugged it back in again. I then saw the water resevoir level drop and knew that water was now being heated.

I made a couple of cups of coffee then put the charcoal filter back in and now everything is working great.

I hope this helps your problem.

Coffee maker will not prime.

E05 means "Water circuit blocked. No water in flow meter or flow meter not turning (jammed)".
Since I got it when I had not descaled for a month, I poured in tripple strength descale in the water container, and restarted the machine 3 times. Noticed that it took in a small gulp of the descale. Waited hours. Restarted 3 times again. Waited... and after about 20 restarts over 2 days. When I almost had given up it primed and was able to do a normal descaling.
I forgot to weigh how many grams of descaled it took in after each restart. That would have been nice for troubleshooting.

I just purchased a Bialetti stainless steel 6-cup stove top espresso maker. I cleaned it, assembled it according to the instructions, and went to brew my first coffee. I didn't grind the coffee too fine,...

There is a valve in the compartment where you place your fresh, cold water. This valve must not be covered as it is necessary in building up steam pressure to push the brewed espresso upwards. Also, most stove espresso makers have a rubber type gasket that is usually placed on the base of the upper part of the maker. Check that you have a gasket.
