When installing the 4D Embroidery System onto Windows 7 computers, the dongle drivers may not initially work correctly, as the 4D Embroidery System installs a set of dongle drivers which were created before Windows 7.
Download and install the latest dongle drivers prior to installing the 4D Embroidery System. Failure to do this, may result in the "Dongle driver not found (E0009)" when you try to open the 4D modules.
Please follow the steps below to install the latest dongle drivers BEFORE installing the 4D Embroidery System
Install your 4D Embroidery System software (and all updates).
Open your 4D Embroidery System software to confirm that your dongle is working correctly.
If you installed the 4D Embroidery System software before installing the latest dongle drivers and if you experience problems such as the error message "Unable to start hasplms service..."; download and install the latest Dongle Drivers.

DS Dual 4 even works with SnowLeopard on a CoreDuo MBP. But it doesn not support Autofocus when used under USB2. You have to use a USB1.1 Port, if you want to use autofocus function.
Every time the software crashes, because you tried e.g. to use autofocus with USB2, you will have to close the application, go to the folder User/Library/Preferences/DS Dual4/... and look whether there is a file name something like "MFSlib...." and pull it to the trash bin. You can start the application again.
PS.: Your keyboard USB port is a USB 1.1 port!
First check the com port speed of computer port which you connected scanner .Com port speed should be 9600.
To change com port speed in computer go to computer/properties/device manager.
Select the ports eg com1 .Right click communication port go to properties and select port settings Bits per second should be 9600.
Serial scanner can not be test in word or note pad.you can download the RS232 software from below link and test the scanner http://www.lookrs232.com/
the 950 has no USB connection, its pre USB, there is a rs232 serial port but it is incredibly slow.. i mean really slow.. hours to download a 64mb card.. its the headphone like socket under the rubber flap on the edge near the shutter button. If you don't have a cable getting one may be a problem these days
By far the best way to get pictures downloaded is with a CF card reader available from almost anywhere and would download your images in seconds over usb2 and wont need special drivers.
Go to device manager and verify that the ports are powered. Windows has as a default that if no USB is detected after a prescribed time, that they be powered down. (Without notification, I might add!) I would then change the parameters to where they are manually turned off and on to help the situation...accordianman
Try opening up the device manager and unistall everything in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Then reboot and let windows reinstall the USB controllers. Windows should now be able to recognize properly USB2 devices.
