Question about Computers & Internet
I have an Acer Aspire laptop and am using Windows Vista-Home edition. I get a ''write-protected'' message when I try to format Philips DVD-R / 4.7 GB DVD's. Why? CDs are no problem!
First of all, you need to make sure you can write to a DVD-R versus DVD+R. Go to your device manager and click on the DVD drive and it should tell you what type of cds and dvds you can write to. Second, you may not need to 'format' the disk. Try just copy and pasting new documents or whatever you want to burn on the disk itself. Then just burn it. If you have a software, make sure to read all directions and follow it exactly. Let me know how this goes!
