Question about Maax Studio 1-Piece Hydromax Whirlpool Tub Shower with Drain & MAAX IES 1/2

1 Answer

Jacuzzi We really don't have a problem, but are wondering if we should be doing any special cleaning of our Maax Jacuzzi tub. It is approx. four years old and has not given us any problems, but we would appreciate any advice as to proper cleaning of the jets, etc. I don't think the product listed below is our model. I believe it was called Cocoon

You have to call the maker of your unit because the gasket can start leaking if you use the rong kind of cleaner

I just had a Maax Living tub installed but did not receive a manual. I searched the Maax website but could not find the answer I need: if I accidently push the drain, the water starts draining but I cannot...

The drain may have been installed incorrectly. It should not be that easy to "pop" open. In normal operation, you push it down until it latches in the closed position. Afterwards, you push it down to unlatch it and start draining.

I need to remove the Maax shower base and can not figure out how to remove the wedge retainer. do i need to actually cut the shower base to get the pipe detached to remove the shower base?

Hello, You shouldn't have to resort to that extreme. The drain unit that the retainer sits in is the part securing the base down, have a look at the diagram in this link:

The drain assembly should unthread and release the base. But sometimes they tend to work as designed.

The retainer is a compression fit (or should be... do you know the installer? they may have deviated from the described installation). Assuming a proper install, use a flat-head screwdriver and a utility knife to seperate the inside portion of the rubber seal of the retainer, from the plastic ring. The ring should now be able to be pried out, and the drain portion unthreaded.

If this helped, please rate a four-thumbs up. Thank You.

E06 error--how do you get rid of flashing this error and what causes it in the first place. Thanks

Finally resolved this on our own tub. We had C01 and E06 error alternating. After gaining access to the service door for the tub, I was able to determine that the ribbon cable for the water detector going to the electronics box on the back of the pump had become loose. After plugging it back in and then powering off/on the pump, the blinking light on the back of the pump went back to solid and the error on the control panel eliminated.

How do you get hair out of a drain that is in a Jacuzzi. Can I unscrew the drain stopper or can I remove the chrome plate further up the tub?

unscrew what ever is covering the hole where the water drains out,.... use a pair of needle nose pliers or an old coat hanger with a little hook pre-bent in it (don't get it stuck in there) and pull out the hair,'s that easy! good luck, cracklin joe

Hi we just bought a maax breeze neo corner shower how do i install the two back walls do you use glue or what?

There will be a nailing flange on the walls of your shower. Typically, drywall screws are used on this flange on the top portion and along outside edges spaced 6-8" apart. Use a high quality tub/shower caulk down the seams.

Resufacing an old bathtub

The answer to this depends on whether you intend to have the bath re-enamelled (vitreous enamel) or whether you intend to use one of the proprietary DIY roller paint "enamelling" systems.

If you plan to have vitreous enamel then any company doing it will not guarantee the outcome or the finish unless you have them do all of the preparation; typically they'll blast the tub back to completely bare steel/cast iron and chemically wash it afterwards. Without this there's a good chance that when the tub comes out of the kiln there will be pinholes (a.k.a. birdseyes) in the finish. If this happens after they've done the prep they'll re-blast it and start again if need be, but not if it's your fault.

But if you plan to use the DIY system then all you need is a smooth and clean base so you can hire a blaster and do the job in your own workshop. Fill any pitting left by rust before repainting the bath, lead or two part epoxy car body filler do the job just fine. DIY kits don't give a great finish but they do look far better than a tired bath with chipped/cracked vitreous enamel if you can't afford to get the job done properly.

Slow draining tub.

You need to run a snake through the overflow. I'm sure there is hair that is caught in it. You remove the overflow cover. The p-trap is just about 8 to 12 inches below. There isn't a need to go any further but it doesn't hurt.

Cold water and jets don't work

Likely your mixer valve cartridge has a blown o-ring.
Replace the cartridge.
Jets not working may be as simple as the GFI outlet being tripped.
