Wall switches do not control fan

I have 3 Hampton Bay remote ceiling fans UC703T. The remotes work, but not the wall switches. How do i get the fans to work from the wall switches. I'm tired of looking for the remotes.

Are the wall switches remote? Or do they simply turn them off and on?

Some fans will not operate without the remote, however, I'm not sure if the Hampton Bay brand is one of these or not. Below is how you will bypass the remote if the fan will operate without the remote.

You can try disconnecting the receiver in the canopy of the van (the cover that fits snug to the ceiling) once you have shut off the power source remove the canopy and find the remote receiver.

Most likely it will be a rectangular box with white, black, and blue or red wires attached. Disconnect all wires from the receiver and lay it to the side.

Now reconnect the wires directly to the fan, white to white, black to black, if you have a red wire (or a second black wire) in the ceiling box connect it to the blue wire from the fan.

If you do not have a red wire (or second black wire) in the ceiling box, connect the black and blue wire from the fan to the single black wire in the ceiling box. This method will require you to pull the chain to operate the fan separately.

Need to program Hampton Bay Ceiling fan remote control CHO88T7030T, HELP!

Change the battery. This is the first step when troubleshooting a ceiling fan remote. The easiest fix to any remote control problem begins with battery replacement. A 9-volt battery is needed to operate all Hampton Bay ceiling fan remotes.

Check the light switch used for the ceiling fan. The light switch found on the wall must be in the "on" position. This allows the ceiling fan to be operated by remote control

Re-program your remote. If battery replacement fails to get your remote working again, try to reprogram the remote. Open the battery cover you will see 4 dip switches. These switches must be set to the same position as the receiver on the fan. Use the screw driver to move the dip switches either up or down.

Follow the previous step to change the frequency if the ceiling fan is randomly turning on or off. Other electronic devices such as garage door openers can interfere with the ceiling fans receiver, causing it to randomly turn on or off.

Fan remotes

mcdevito75 here, If the thermostatic switch was controlling another ceiling fan then yes it should work, it"ll have to hook up to the wall switch. I'd double check with a hardware store in the area for more advise.

Unable to get fan to respond to remote Hampton Bay 54".

There is most likely a wall switch which you will need to ppush to the on position to send power to the fan, then the remote will do as it is supposed to do. If you find that it is not the wall switch, then I would check the electrical panel for a circuit breaker that has kicked partway off or blown fuse.

The dip switch is on the receiver box which is located inside the housing on the ceiling, inside the remote control, and inside the wall switch if you have a wall switch made to control the fan.  All must have the same dip switch settings.
