Display shows "RESET". Anyone who knows how to reset a NAD L54? Not the remote control. Have tried to shut down the main power source, to push the on/off and to reset the remote control setiings. Nothing happens, the device is "frozen. BR, Michael, DK-Denmark
This is the technical solution, you have to open the unit:
Locate IC33 and connect pin 6 to ground, connect power, and then remove the ground connection at pin 6.
The unit will then boot up in factory default.

If it happens again, then you will need to replace IC33 (24C08AN)This is the EEPROM for costumer settings etc.

i have been looking for IC33 but i cant find it, could you tell me where to look more precisely?
i have found it and it works until i cut the power.
Thanks.
Them you have a failure in IC33. It is a serial EEPROM.
Do you know where it is possible to buy a replacement?
try let-elektronik or elektronik-lavpris, conrad etc. You should go for the text on the IC, i do not remember the type....
Hi Mikkel. Did You find the IC33. I have the same problem as You
Location of the IC33
I mean. Did You find out where to buy a replacement IC33 ?
same issue here. I had to open the nad to collect some CD's one of my kids has somehow been able to place in there. When I connect it again I got RESET. Tried the factory reset as described, but it only works until i disconnect power. Any experiences how to proceed ? Can't understand why I need to replace parts just after open a chassis.
Hello i have the same challenge. Ive found ic33 but how do i connect pin 6 to the ground ? What is pin 6 ?
I am norwegian Henrik.
Looking forward to answer. Thanks
thanks for the advise , it helps me making my L54 back alive.Benjamin Van Osselaer - Belgium
Thank you, it works fine. Reprogramming the stations after each power failure is necessary (happens rarely). Otto Bertschi, Switzerland
It does not work on my NAD L54. It remain in "Reset" mode. What source do you use for ground? Br. Allan Kjeldal Denmark

Microprocessorboard is defective, no sparepart available anymore
After new power loss it's on reset again. Solder a cable on this pin and bring it outside for future use...

Worked for me thanx. I left the wire grounded all the time. If power is lost, the only negative is L54 comes on all by itself when power is restored.
you can re-solder this ic33 and you will solve this problem forever
