Problems with wiring schematic when replacing a factory stereo

I'm replacing a factory stereo out of a 2004 econoline van with the xr-c7350x stereo. however i'm having problems with the wiring. the factory wiring is a lot longer and i can't find the end to disconnect. i thought about splicing together the main connections however, there are 15 factory wires where the new stereo only has 13. not sure which ones don't get connected.

Do you have the harness adaptors? it is best to use these rather than cutting harness. you can swap factory radio back in at later date and they will tell you the wiring ,if not i will try and locate the diagram for you

they plug into the radio end. your factory radio should have connectors at the radio that unplug. also most aftermarket radios will not use the illumination wire this is usually orange

On my 1987 ford econoline 350. im replacing my stereo. what does each color wire do. which wire connects to the new wiring, harness

There are many wires that do diffrent things, i would get a harness connetor, this connector will connect to van wiring and then plug into the new radio connector, this way theres no splicing of the wires, i will enclose a wirng diagram also that will show you what ever wire is for , good day.johnjohn2_133.gif

You might have cut a wire or it could have broken or disconnected. Try tracing the wiring where you hooked up the trailer you may find one broken or disconnected.
