Question about GE Cooktops
The letter F starts flashing and we can't cook anymore
You have a failure that needs to be read by a technician. Call GE Consumer Service 1-800-432-2737 as these guys know the product unlike any other and can translate the fault code (there's more behind that "F" that you won't see until the unit is put into "tech mode")

Switching off the childproof lock
1. Press the ON key.
2. Then immediately press the Plus key of the cooking zone at the left-back and the Minus key of the cooking zone at the right-back simultaneously.
3. Then press the Minus key in order to deactivate the childproof lock. The "L" will go off.
If this doesn't work or you have a different model, please post back and I will let you know the correct deactivation method for your model.
Hope this helps.
