I did that for my crysler town car. Hope it will be the same. Remove the plastic cover that surrounds the AC vents. There may be some screws at the bottom. There also will probably be a small plastic piece under the stereo that will need to be removed, screws on the bottom. Finally, the bolts that secure the cd player will be exposed. Remove those bolts and pull out the cd player. Be careful because the wires are usually not long. Disconnect all the electrical connections, and you're done.
Good Luck

F the display shows "WAIT" then the radio may be codelocked and will have to be left switched on for up to two hours for it to reset and code entry to be possible.

Very simple. I'm assuming it's the factory single disc changer. First, remove the plastic cover that surrounds the AC vents. There may be some screws at the bottom. There also will probably be a small plastic piece under the stereo that will need to be removed (screws on bottom). After that, the bolts that secure the cd player will be exposed. Remove the bolts and pull out the cd player. Be careful because the wires are not that long. Undo all the electrical connections, and you're done.

2004 GTO will not eject CDs, says CD mech error.

I just had this happen the other day. It completely jammed up. I ended up having to remove the radio and disassemble the upper changer section to get the disks out. The problem with mine was that one of the disk trays broke and jammed the mechanism. I ended up gutting the changer and and reassembling the radio and installing it in the car to use the AM/FM function. I'm currently in the search for a new radio to swipe the CD changer off of since even radios that you do not have the security code for will work as the coding is in the radio section and not the CD changer. The changer attaches to the top of the radio with 2 T8 and 4 T10 screws and connects with a ribbon cable between the two modules. You'll see the ribbon cable when the top CD changer mechanism. Be careful removing CDs this way as if the player's rotating assembly is not retracted, it is very easy to scratch the disk. Unfortunately I lost a Velvet Revolver disk this way. Good luck! If you are on one of the the big boards I go by TR GTO on both if you need to contact me and I'll walk you through it.

The CD Changer will not work and shows ERR 1 and I

The cd changer internal mechanism is faulty, replace the cd changer itself.

Monsoon cd changer gives message - changer parked

Ok, there has been a discussion about this over on g6performance.com.

Here is a copy of the service bulletin one of the guys there dug up:

#PIC4509A: Radio Displays Changer Parked Message - keywords battery CD display int intermittent intermittently no owners park radio - (Dec 27, 2007)

Subject: Radio Displays "Changer Parked" Message

Models: 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu

2008 Chevrolet Malibu Classic

2005-2008 Pontiac G6

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This PI was superseded to update models and model years. Please discard PIC4509.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
A customer may comment that the radio will display a "Changer Parked" message intermittently at times, and there is NO explanation in the owner's manual for this message.

Recommendation/Instructions:
This message will display after the CD mechanism has initialized or when you manually park the CD mechanism. Initialization occurs normally upon a battery reconnect. The mechanism will unpark itself once you press the CD load button.

Note: After pressing the CD load button, you will NOT get a message that's it's unparked.

Sa-pm29 cd-changer jammed

The loading mechanism needs to be rebuilt. There is also an engineering change that should be applied to this unit if it hasn't had the mod already. This is not a home repair. This unit should go to an authorized Panasonic service center.

6 cd changer in 2001 ford expediation

If the unit will not accept or eject any disks, this is a relatively simple fix. Remove the unit from the vehicle. There are 4 T-9 torx screws on the side of the radio. Remove them and slightly lift the CD mechanism from the radio. There are 2 things that need to be unplugged before you can separate the 2 pieces. The 2 wires simply unplug from the bottom of the cd mechanism. The ribbon cable is locked into the socket, you need to grab the lock and gently pull it away from the circuit board. When unlocked the ribbon cable will simply fall out of the socket. Look through the front of the changer mechanism, are there any disks that look out of place? Gently lift the trays to inspect the disks, if one of the disks is too far back you need to get it into place. Reassemble the deck and see what happens.
