Question about Brother DCP 115C All-In-One InkJet Printer
When power is connected the red ! lights up and the printer bleeps twice while "photo capture" blinks twice too, and then the printer stays dead. nothing on the display, only the red ! lights up. already tried to disconnect power and connect again while pressing "menu" but same result.

you need a new waist ink absorber box from a service partner which can be found at brother homepage of you country.
After replacing the box you have to do a reset.
search error 46 or unable to clean here in the forum. it has been written many times.

My HL-5240 did the same thing, Here is what I found:
Look at the back of the printer. Pull down the back cover. Look to the right and the left of the exposed internals of the printer and there should be another handle/knob you can pull down. Pull these both down simultaneously and check to make sure there isn't a piece of paper in there! This was a shock to me! My office printer was held up for days until I found this hidden door in the back! I felt like an idiot that it was from a stupid paper jam!

the printer has a counter for the supposed amount of ink the absorber pad can absorb.
i have reset the counter using the following and now it works. In theory you need to get a replacement pad but i haven't been able to find one yet. My printer is now working fine
