Mouse keeps stopping, batts changed, wireless keyboard ok, mouse starts and stops for no apparent reason. Brand new kit.

generally this will be caused from lack of signal, or dirt in the mouses "eye" , try moving the wireless reciever alittle closer to where the mouse is being used.
also, try blowing in the "eye" of the mouse really hard.

Mouse Problem in Project IGI

Sounds like to me you need a new mouse. Or if it is wirless you must have the infrared receiver closer to your mouse.2) check your device manager and see if your mouse has a Yellow ? or ! mark next to it.If so right click on the mouse listing and click repair or update and or uninstall then reinstall your mouse last. This will fix it if it is not gone!!!
Great Luck!!!

Frozen mouse with a touch pad laptop computer

Check your drivers. Go into the device manager (start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>human interface device) . If it shows a big yellow question mark, than it is a driver problem.

I would suggest that you either install or download the latest drivers for the mouse, and you can do this even without checking for a hardware conflict as stated above.

You can also access the control panel and trouble shoot your mouse through the mouse icon.

Even sometimes this may not work.....

I had an IBM brand optical mouse that continually plague me with problems until I gave it away with a computer that I built. The person who has it is still have occasionally issues with the mouse even with the proper drivers installed. I believe that it is a connection issue because sometimes the mouse will start working when you jiggle the male USB connection.

Do you have the software to go with the mouse or was there one at all?.............you may need to reinstall this software. Otherwise if you did install it and for some reason it cease to go you may need to restore your machine from safe mode to a day when it did go..................regards Peter

Mouse will not work when plugged in.

What kind of mouse is it? If it has a round plug, then it's a PS/2 mouse, if a rectangular one than it's USB.

Either way, I suggest getting a new mouse. Get a laser mouse instead of a mouse with a ball in it. They last much longer. I've been buying Logitech brand mice for years and find them to be reliable.

For example, at Staples you can probably pick up a basic, wired, USB Logitech mouse for under $30, maybe less than $20. I recommend wired over wireless, wireless ones burn up batteries quickly.

Also, I've found that if you have a round PS/2 plug for a mouse instead of USB, many of the Logitech mice come with a little green adapter in the package that will let you plug the USB mouse into a round PS/2 port.

I know this is a dumb solution, but mice are so inexpensive these days that messing around with an older mouse simply isn't worth the effort.

Power failure after connecting the mouse

Hi sambi,

If you are currently, working on PS2 mouse port which is the error occurred as stated in your problem. Try to used other PS2 mouse which working on the other pc maybe there was a short circuit on your old mouse. If the problem persist, You can use the alternative way by using USB port to plug your optical mouse.

Try to look for ps2 to usb port converter in the computer stores maybe you can still used your old mouse.

Hope this will be helpful to you.

Best Regards,

Philip
