Robot Coupe blade sraping top lid and metal in getting in cheese

My grating plate in scraping the top inside lid of the Robot Coupe and metal shaving are getting into the cheese. This just started happening and can't figure out why. Already bought a new blade thinking that was the problem. Still does it.

Robot chef RC3 lid the little bit on the lid that switches it on is broken.

To valewis46 - is the lid still available as mine has been stick together that many times that it has now bitten the dust. I realise that your offer was made over a year ago but I thought I would ask - just in case. Thanks.

The robot coupe will stop working periodically during use. The reset button on the bottom pops out after it has been used for a short while. I run a kitchen and it can be very frustrating trying to get...

It is overheating, probably because it is being overworked. Some common problems are overloading the bowl, or forcing too much food into the hopper on top. Once it overheats, it will kick out again rather quickly the next time unless the motor has time to cool. If you are shredding cheese, slow down on the amount of cheese forced into the blade. If you are trying to mix heavy dough you are probably overloading the bowl as well. This machine can't handle over a pound of pizza dough without overheating. The reset button is there to keep from burning the motor out. If you continue to reset and force feed the machine, it will burn the motor out. Good luck, hope this helps.

Any of the disc blades require the use of the detachable stem. The official "Fine Grating Disc" (which doesn't normally come supplied with the food processor) is mainly for grating cheese, but the shredder disc that comes supplied with the food processor will do the job for you.

Robo coupe CL52D would not turn on

There is a reed swich (safety switch) located on the top where the lid comes down. A reed switch works with a magnet. If the magnet is missing or the reed swictch is bad, no power will be allowed to the motor. Send me your e-mail & I will look up the part # in my Robot-Coupe manual.

Robot coupe maintanance

That plastic piece is a sling disk or sling blade and made to sling product to the discharge chute. Believe it or not, the motor shafts wear out and could be the cause of premature failure. When you install the new sling blade, check to see how much slop/ play there is by moving this back and forth on the shaft, a small amount is ok (1/16th to 3/32nds). The other thing to look at is forcing or overfeeding the unit. You can contact them at

Robot Coupe clicks, runs 5 seconds, stops for 30 seconds, clicks, runs 5 seconds...

The clicking noise is an internal circuit breaker or motor protector. These things are not made to be bogged down or overfed. The motor is heating up & tripping the overload, after cooloing it resets. Time to buy a new one or get the motor replaced ($600-$800)
