I had the exact same problem, it is a problem with the xbox. Since it is only three months old it is under warranty, go to xbox.com/support and file a claim describing the problem. They then will have you send in your xbox and you should get a new one in about three weeks, best of luck.
check around the disk tray for dust and use a vaccum cleaner to clean it, then use a wet cd lens cleaner with cleaning fluid a few time.
This should cure the problem but it might be that your drive is on its way out
Sounds like the Xbox is trying to find a piece of data that it need to go further and because of a dirty or scratched disk, it can't find it. If you want to verify whether it's your disk or your Xbox, go to your local game rental store and rent a copy of the same game to see if you have the same problem.
this is caused by the n November update in the MS xbox360 dashboard. This is a problem with the xbox communicating with the hard drive. This usually occurs in xboxs that are not using the HD shipped with the console. According to square the only solution to this common problem is that you reformat your hd and intsall the game again. yes, you have have to wait for that dl to finish. square also states that there is a possiblity that this may re-occur after the second install, though rare.
This is a known issue with the 360, most likely the cause is that the spindle that holds the disc is loose or completely broken off. As the way the cap for the spindle was made, microsoft used a magnet to hold it in place instead of glue or soldering as most drives would have. This is just another instance of inferior workmanship on their part to save money.
