Question about Televison & Video
It has a convergence issue - that if we bang it, it'll go back to being ok. Any idea how much this is to repair... ballpark? We're in NJ.
Sounds like bad solder connections to the convergence output integrated circuits. Very common, and that's why whacking the set gets it going okay again. I have no idea what road technicians are charging for the trip and labor these days, but when I was on the road several years ago our charge was $82 total trip and labor. You should be able to get a ballpark estimate over the phone since it should be a pretty straightforward repair.
