SOURCE: lens are stuck open on cybershot S90.

i would suggest you to contact any expert or SONY SERVICE CENTER because according to the problem you describe is technically difficult and due to jurk the gears of the zoom lens assembly may be broken misaligned, and there is a specific method to open the zoom lens assembly to change the gears, Or the if you want to repair it by yourself then you have to replace the complete lens block assembly, Therefore i would advise you to contact any expert for repair,

Sony cyber shot dsc h200 lens is stuck, will not take pictures. says to turn off and turn on again, but does not work.

Hi Susan,
If you cannot find the power button, just simply remove the battery wait for few seconds and put the battery back. What I assume of this behavior is 'If the coming out lens is obstructed by anything' the camera will show such error. If it does again, I would suggest calling Sony and getting their advice. Regards

My Kodak EasyShare C713 suddenly takes only black pictures and shows only a black image on the LCD in live display. Playback is fine for old pictures and movies. Can I replace the picture senor element-...

It actually might just be a stuck shutter. A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

I have a PowerShot S2 IS Icannot take a picture screen show E18.

E18 is the standard Canon lens error. The lens gets stuck when extending. If you did not drop it and there are no signs of damage you can check with Canon and try to get the camera repaired under warranty.

If it is not covered here are a few methods to try on your own, at your own risk.

Power shot a620. screen is not showing pictures, all icons are there but screen is black? Help please!!

Sounds like you might have accidentally pressed the DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. It turns the screen on and off to save batteries. Turn on your camera, and press this button once again to turn the screen back on.

But if your camera is also taking black pictures,
a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
